Job summary

VMC Soft Technologies, Inc is seeking an Engineer to lead packaging development initiatives across lifecycle stages in a fast-paced environment. The role requires collaboration with R&D, Operations, and Marketing to ensure robust packaging solutions.

Candidates should have 4–6 years of packaging experience, including Primary/Secondary/ Tertiary packaging, and hands-on CAD proficiency (AutoCAD). GMP exposure is essential, with comfort in highly regulated settings.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of industry experience required.
• 2-4 years of package development experience and CAD usage.
• Experience in Consumer/OTC or Pharmaceutical industries is a must.
• GMP experience is a must; highly regulated environment experience preferred.
• Six Sigma or Process Excellence certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute packaging engineering assignments for lifecycle initiatives.
• Develop materials/structural aspects of packaging (Primary, Secondary, Tertiary) to deliver a robust system.
• Design, create and approve component drawings and specifications; coordinate with R&D for changes.
• Develop and document end-to-end package development artifacts for approval and traceability.
• Lead packaging development projects and coordinate testing to ensure integrity for manufacturing and end users.

Role Descriptions

"A minimum of 2-4 years of industry experience is required with at least 2 years of Package Development experience and using CAD appliications. Specific experience within the Consumer| OTC| or Pharmaceutical industry is must. GMP experience is must. Experience in a highly regulated environment is preferred. Demonstrated technical knowledge related to package materials| equipment| testing and package development is required.Under limited supervision and in accordance with all applicable federal| state and local laws/regulations| the Companies policies| procedures and guidelines| this position is required to:

• Plan and execute package engineering assignments concerned with large life cycle management initiatives.
• Engage in the development of the material and structural aspects of packages| including Primary| Secondary & Tertiary materials to ultimately deliver a robust packaging system to the market.
• Design| Create & approve component drawings & specifications. Work closely with R&D for primary components design and product related changes.
• Develop| write| gain cross-functional alignment| and route for approval package development documentation that captures the end-to-end project specific information. (Examples of documentation: Package Component Drawings & Specifications| Package Development Assessment and Plan documents| Packaging Line Trial Protocols and Reports| Package Development Reports| etc.)
• Lead packaging development projects.
• Determine and coordinate physical testing to ensure product and package integrity for manufacturing through end users.
• Lead troubleshooting in the resolution of packaging related issues in manufacturing and the field.
• Execute packaging projects in compliance with government and corporate guidelines.
• Execute package line trials and package testing.
• GMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice) working experience.
• cGMP documentation proficiency.
• Creating: Copy and graphics specification| Pallet patterns and Finished Put-up specifications.
• SAP related tasks including Data Entry| Raw Material Code requests| Bill Of Material Creation and revisions.
• Knowledge| Skills and Abilities: Ability to work in a cross functional environment relating to R&D| Marketing| Operations| Sales| etc is required. Previous experience focusing on managing and/or supporting technical projects required.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications is required| especially with Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience in customer focus| program/project management| accountability| process orientation| and strategic thinking required.
• Experience in process excellence and process thinking and application of tools is preferred.
