Job summary

Reputed Die Casting Manufacturing Company in Ambattur, Chennai, seeks a Senior Engineer NPD to manage complete New Product Development for aluminium gravity die casting. The role emphasizes tool design, gating, and mould flow simulations, with hands-on experience in tool room operations, PPAP, and APQP.

Candidates should have 5+ years in NPD and strong project management skills, with proficiency in SolidWorks/CATIA/UG NX and gas-tight collaboration with vendors and teams.

Qualifications

• Diploma/BE/BTech in Mechanical or Tool Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in NPD, Tool Design, and Tool Room operations in GDC.
• Strong knowledge of Tool Design, Gating Design, and Gating System Calculations for GDC.
• Hands-on experience in Mould Flow Simulation software (Magma, ProCAST, or equivalent).
• Proficiency in CAD design software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or UG NX.
• Good knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and quality systems in aluminium casting.
• Strong team handling, coordination, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle end-to-end NPD activities for aluminium components using Gravity Die Casting (GDC).
• Design and validate tool design, gating design, and gating systems for GDC.
• Perform mould flow simulations and optimize casting parameters to achieve defect-free castings.
• Coordinate with the tool room and vendors for tool manufacturing, corrections, and validation.
• Plan, monitor, and complete NPD projects within agreed timelines, quality standards, and cost targets.
• Support DFM reviews and provide technical inputs during customer discussions.
• Lead and coordinate engineers and technicians during tool trials, validation, and PPAP activities.
• Prepare and maintain NPD documentation, including APQP, PPAP, process flow, and trial reports.

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer NPD to manage complete New Product Development (NPD) activities for Aluminium Gravity Die Casting (GDC). The candidate should have strong expertise in Tool Design, Gating Design, and Gating System Layouts, with hands-on experience in mould flow simulation, tool room operations, tool corrections, team handling, and NPD timeline management.

Key Responsibilities:
