The role emphasizes APQP/PPAP documentation, GD&T interpretation, and CAD/engineering using AutoCAD/SolidWorks. You will optimize CNC/VMC processes and lead continuous improvement initiatives across cost, quality, and cycle time.

Qualifications

  • Proficient CAD/engineering knowledge for product development.
  • Strong GD&T interpretation to ensure dimensional compliance.
  • Experience with APQP/NPD documentation and processes.
  • Familiarity with PPAP documentation and quality gates.

Responsibilities

  • Study customer drawings, specifications and technical requirements.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for new components.
  • Identify manufacturing requirements, processes, machines, tooling and fixtures.
  • Develop components from prototype/trial stage to mass production.
  • Prepare and monitor NPD project timelines.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams for timely completion of development activities.
  • Develop and optimize CNC and VMC machining processes.
  • Prepare CNC/VMC programs based on component drawings.
  • Select cutting tools, inserts, machining parameters and sequences.
  • Conduct machine trials and optimize cycle time.
  • Identify and resolve machining-related problems during development.
  • Improve processes for productivity, quality and cost reduction.
  • Follow APQP requirements for new product development.
  • Prepare/review Process Flow Diagram, PFMEA, Control Plan, Work Instructions, Inspection Standards, Process Capability requirements.
  • Coordinate with Quality for dimensional and functional validation.
  • Ensure customer-specific requirements are incorporated into the development process.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and technical specifications.
  • Use AutoCAD / SolidWorks for engineering and development activities.
  • Support modification and improvement of component designs.
  • Prepare process layouts, tooling concepts and manufacturing documentation.
  • Plan and execute prototype and sample development.
  • Coordinate with Production and Tool Room for trial runs.
  • Monitor first-off and subsequent trial components.
  • Analyze rejection, dimensional variation and machining issues.
  • Implement corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for Cycle-time reduction, Tool-cost reduction, Material optimization, Process simplification, Productivity improvement.
  • Support cost estimation for new components.
  • Develop processes that meet customer requirements at optimum manufacturing cost.
  • Coordinate with customers regarding drawings, specifications and technical clarifications.
  • Participate in customer development meetings when required.
  • Coordinate with Quality, Production, Purchase, Tool Room and Maintenance.
  • Ensure smooth handover of successfully developed products to Production.

Key Responsibilities
A. New Product Development
  • Study customer drawings, specifications and technical requirements.

C. APQP & Quality Documentation
  • Follow APQP requirements for new product development.
  • Prepare and coordinate PPAP documentation.
  • Prepare/review:
