Job summary

Thompsons HR Consulting Pvt Ltd in Tamil Nadu seeks an experienced NPD & Business Development Engineer (5–8 years) for Sriperumbudur. You will drive end-to-end new product development from concept to production and coordinate with design, R&D, quality and manufacturing teams to ensure manufacturability.

Prepare PDS and BOM, support DFMEA/PFMEA, validation, supplier coordination, and post-launch improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required.
• 5–8 years of experience in New Product Development with proven launches.
• Experience in Business Development is a plus.
• Proficiency in project management and PLM systems.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks advantageous.
• Quality standards like ISO 9001/IATF 16949 awareness.

Responsibilities

• Track and analyse sales data to identify trends and evaluate potential Business Development leads.
• Coordinate end-to-end new product development from concept to production launch.
• Plan and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and present products to clients.
• Achieve monthly sales KPIs and present reports to top management.
• Collaborate with design, R&D; quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure manufacturability.
• Prepare and maintain PDS (Product Design Specifications) and BOM (Bill of Materials).
• Respond promptly to sales-related issues; support DFMEA and PFMEA activities.
• Support product validation, testing, and trials with quality teams.
• Represent the company at industry events, client meetings, and conferences.
• Coordinate with suppliers for sample development, tooling, and PPAP approvals.
• Monitor project timelines, ensure milestones are met, and provide regular updates.
• Maintain technical documentation including specifications, test plans, and compliance reports.
• Ensure proper documentation as per internal standards and customer requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and incorporate post-launch feedback.
• Analyse product performance after launch and implement improvements.
