Human Asset Management Services is seeking an experienced NPD Engineer in Mumbai to lead the end-to-end design and development of new products from concept to production release. You will create 3D models and detailed drawings with GD&T, select materials, and ensure manufacturability through DFM/DFS principles.

Objective :: New product development from start to end by ensuring effective product delivery applying fundamental engineering principles (Material standard, GD&T etc.) and Utilising Design thinking, project management skills. The role actively collaborates with the BD team, Marketing team, sales team, Production team, SCM team and C1,C3 NPD Mechanical Engineer to ensure on time product delivery to the organisation.
1. Liasoning with C1,C3 NPD Mechanical Engineer for;
1.1. Design research standards, competitor products, and benchmarking 1.2. Actively participate in brainstorming sessions to turn ideas into workable products.
1.3. Deeper understanding of project requirements - Voice of Customer (VOC). 1.4. Ideation and Engineering design - Integration of New material/ and Processes 1.5. Planning and prioritization of project activities 1.6. Ensuring frequent project review with C3/mentors for milestone update. 1.7. Coordinating with C1 for support activities (e.g., drafting, CAD modelling, BOM creation), with C2 for timelines and deliverables, and with mentors for technical detailing, concept identification, and guidance. 1.8. 2. Owning and driving the complete design cycle. Lead the end-to-end product Design & Development process (D&D Process) from conceptualization based on market requirements and technical specifications through final production release.
3. Develop sophisticated 3D models, detailed assemblies, and manufacturing drawings for complex components and systems, applying advanced GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and tolerancing strategies.
4. Ensure proper FMS.
5. Translate product requirements into clear technical specifications, considering performance, cost, safety, and regulatory compliance.- HCIS compliance , ASTM standards 2656
6. Identify potential technical risks in the design and development process and develop strategies to mitigate them.
7. Select appropriate materials based on functional requirements, environmental conditions, cost, and manufacturability, referencing and applying relevant material standards.
8. Proactively incorporate DFM(Manufacturing), DFA(assembly), DFI(Installation), and DFS (Service) principles into designs to ensure smooth product commercialisation.
9. Plan, execute, and analyze comprehensive testing for alpha & Beta prototypes to validate design performance against specifications and identify areas for improvement.
10. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to C1 engineers or technicians as needed.
11. Collaborate effectively with Marketing, SCM, Manufacturing, Quality, and other teams throughout the product development process, clearly communicating technical information and design decisions.
12. Ensure all design documentation, including drawings, specifications, test reports, and design review outputs, is accurate, complete, and controlled according to D&D process aligned with IMS, ISO procedures. Conduct proper knowledge transfer (Handover) to estimation, Engineering team to make it institutionalized.
13. Follow project timelines as per D&D trackers and prioritise the work for deliverables.
14. Working on the customer inputs and feedback received for the product developed and ensuring CAPA implementation.
15. Control over design engineering change management in engineering drawings and communicating with stakeholders.
16. Site visits, Shopfloor visit, vendor visits and translate knowledge and incorporate learnings in our design
