Job summary

Indo- Mim is seeking an experienced Project Engineer NPD & Project Management to drive new product development, coordinate cross-functional teams, and manage from requirements through development, FAI, and handover to Production.

The role requires strong communication, ability to track schedules, budgets, risks, read engineering drawings, and ensure AS9100/PPAP/APQP compliant processes for aerospace/precision manufacturing.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech – Mechanical Engineering degree required.
• Strong knowledge of NPD and Project Management.
• Experience with APQP, PPAP, and FAI processes.
• Exposure to AS9100 aerospace quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead NPD projects from initiation through launch and handover.
• Interpret drawings, specs, and customer requirements for engineering teams.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain.
• Track schedules, milestones, costs, and risk; prepare MoMs and reports.
• Ensure V&V and FAI activities and timely project closure.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer with strong expertise in New Product Development (NPD), project coordination, engineering drawings, customer communication, and manufacturing processes. The candidate will be responsible for driving projects from initial requirements through development, validation, First Article Inspection (FAI), and successful handover to Production and Quality.

The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication, project tracking, analytical, and cross-functional coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple activities and drive timely project completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate New Product Development (NPD) projects from project initiation through successful launch and handover.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, customer requirements, and technical documents to provide accurate inputs to the Configuration/Engineering team.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Production, Purchase, Supply Chain, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams.
• Track NPD project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and dependencies to ensure timely completion.
• Conduct project review meetings, prepare Minutes of Meeting (MoM), track action items, and follow up on delays with concerned stakeholders.
• Identify project delays and risks, elevate critical issues, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Prepare and present bi-weekly NPD progress reports, project status reports, budget/actual cost tracking, and risk analysis reports for management review.
• Monitor project budgets and highlight potential cost overruns for timely management approval.
• Coordinate with customers regarding part submissions, technical clarifications, development status, feedback, and project follow-ups.
• Maintain professional and diplomatic communication with customers and ensure timely closure of technical and project-related queries.
• Support the Marketing/Business Development team in coordinating with cross-functional departments for completion and submission of initial project questionnaires.
• Monitor production capacity and manufacturing readiness to ensure new product development does not create production bottlenecks.
• Drive NPD activities in accordance with APQP and PPAP methodologies for aerospace and automotive components.
• Ensure adherence to defined manufacturing processes, including gating, shelling, and other critical process requirements.
• Coordinate activities required for AS9100 compliance and successful completion of First Article Inspection (FAI).
• Ensure all project deliverables, documentation, approvals, and customer requirements are completed before project closure.
• Act as a key interface between Engineering, Production, Quality, and other functions during the project lifecycle.
• Facilitate the formal transition of project execution responsibility to Production and Quality after successful FAI completion.
• Ensure proper project documentation and knowledge transfer during handover.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of New Product Development (NPD) and Project Management.
• Excellent ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP and FAI processes.
• Knowledge of AS9100 / Aerospace Quality Management System requirements.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes, preferably investment casting / precision engineering.
• Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of MS Project is highly preferred.
• Strong project planning, tracking, reporting, and analytical skills.
• Excellent English communication and presentation skills.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Ability to communicate diplomatically with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
