Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited, Chennai, seeks an automotive design engineer with 2–5 years' experience in driveline and transmission systems. You will review drawings, apply GD&T, and contribute to shift system development for automatic transmissions and electric drives.

You will use CAD tools (Catia, NX, 3dX proficiency) and MATLAB/Simulink for performance verification, while supporting APQP/DFMEA and coordinating with plant teams to meet project timelines.

Qualifications

• GD&T and stack‑up analysis are required.
• Basic proficiency in CAD (3D/2D) expected.
• FMEA/DFMEA and concern resolution skills.
• Project timeline and activity management.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings and release in Teamcenter with GD&T consideration.
• Work on gear shift design for auto/hybrid/EV transmissions.
• Utilize Matlab/Simulink for performance verification.
• Coordinate with APQP, MPDS gateway and plant teams to meet timelines.

Job description

• Should know the GD&T and 2D drafting for drawing review and release in Team center
• Should know the basic Engg design, Thermal system of auto/hybrid/ev and able to work on gear shift design
• Should be able to understand and work with Matlab/simulink software for perf verification
• SOR, CIR and Technical synthasis for Electric Drives, Automatic, and its shift systems(by cable and by wire)
• Basics of microcontroller, Communication protocol i.e CAN, LIN,
• DFMEA, Bench and Validation DVP preparation and execution
• Driveline system concern analysis and resolution report preparation
• Should have manufacturing and process knowledge of Transmission Aggregates
• Should be able to work with CFT including plant team and close points wrt APQP, MPDS gateway
• Should Be a team player
• Kissoft for spline and gear design
• Knowledge of project management
