Job summary

Commvault is seeking a Senior Engineer- C++ to join our teams in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Pune. You will design, develop, and maintain core components of a scalable, high-performance distributed storage platform.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years of software development experience, deep C++ expertise, and strong Linux/Windows internals knowledge. You will collaborate across functions, participate in design reviews, and help drive secure, reliable product delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with 4+ years of software development experience.
• Strong experience in C++ object-oriented programming.
• Solid understanding of Linux/Windows internals, networking, storage concepts.
• Experience with debugging tools such as gdb, WinDbg, ProcMon, Wireshark, tcpdump.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain core components in a distributed storage platform.
• Participate in architecture discussions and technical design reviews.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.

Who you are…

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 4 or more years of software development experience
• Strong experience in C++ Object oriented programming.
• Good understanding of Linux and Windows internals, including process, memory, storage, and networking concepts.
• Hands-on experience with debugging and troubleshooting tools such as gdb, WinDbg, ProcMon, Wireshark, tcpdump, or similar.
• Proven experience with crash dump analysis, memory leaks, handle leaks, deadlocks, race conditions, and performance tuning.
• Strong experience working with systems involving micro-services & service architecture, client-server architecture, and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, Object-Oriented Design, and Design Patterns.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and software development best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with a strong sense of ownership.
• Security and SaaS experience strongly preferred.
