The ideal candidate has 5–8 years in procurement, hands-on vendor development, price negotiations, and cost reduction, with a focus on material planning and supplier performance.

Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years of experience in purchase/procurement in a manufacturing industry.
• Experience in aluminium die casting, automotive components, machining or precision engineering is preferred.
• Hands-on experience in vendor development, commercial negotiations, cost reduction and material planning.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day purchase activities for the units.
• Collect and verify purchase requirements from Production, Maintenance, Quality and Stores departments.
• Obtain quotations from suppliers and prepare comparative statements.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms and delivery schedules.
• Prepare purchase orders after obtaining the required approvals.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Procure aluminium raw materials, machine spares, tooling, consumables and maintenance items as required and job work requirements.
• Coordinate with Stores to monitor stock levels and avoid material shortages.
• Identify new suppliers and develop alternative sources.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through price negotiation and vendor development.
• Coordinate with Quality and Stores for rejected or defective materials.
• Maintain purchase records, supplier details and purchase-related documents.
• Monitor pending purchase orders and resolve delivery-related issues.
• Prepare monthly purchase reports and cost-saving reports.
• Adhere all purchases comply with company policies and approval procedures.
