Job summary

Unitile is seeking a skilled professional for a role in Strategic Sourcing & Procurement based in Umbargaon, Gujarat. The successful candidate will develop and execute sourcing strategies for aluminium profiles and manage vendor relationships to ensure timely supply while optimizing costs.

The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of experience in procurement within the aluminium or sheet metal fabrication industries and hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Strong negotiation skills and proficiency in ERP systems are essential for the role.

Job description

Strategic Sourcing & Procurement

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for aluminium profiles, sheet metal components, fabrication materials, and engineering consumables.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for raw materials, fabrication services, tooling, and outsourced manufacturing.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and annual rate contracts with suppliers.
• Ensure uninterrupted supply of materials while maintaining optimal inventory levels.

Vendor Development & Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new vendors.
• Conduct supplier audits and performance evaluations based on quality, delivery, cost, and compliance.
• Develop alternate sourcing channels to reduce dependency and supply risks.
• Collaborate with Quality and Production teams for supplier quality improvement initiatives.

Cost Optimization

• Drive cost reduction initiatives through value engineering, alternate material sourcing, and process improvements.
• Analyze market trends, commodity pricing, and industry benchmarks.
• Prepare cost comparison statements and procurement MIS reports.

Technical & Cross‑Functional Coordination

• Work closely with Design, Production, Planning, QA/QC, and Stores departments.
• Understand engineering drawings, BOMs, fabrication requirements, and manufacturing processes.
• Support new product development and project procurement activities.

Supply Chain & Compliance

• Monitor procurement schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and statutory requirements.
• Maintain procurement documentation, contracts, and vendor records.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of aluminium extrusion and fabrication, sheet metal fabrication processes, laser cutting, bending, welding, powder coating, machining, raw material sourcing, and vendor management.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Excellent negotiation and commercial skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8–10 years of experience in sourcing/procurement within the aluminium or sheet metal fabrication industries.
• Experience handling OEM/vendor networks and contract manufacturing suppliers.
• Exposure to industrial manufacturing or engineering companies preferred.
