Senior Electrical Engineer – Mumbai

We invite applications for a Senior Electrical Engineer at our Mumbai office. You will lead electrical design services across a portfolio of construction projects in India and beyond, delivering innovative, sustainable solutions in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake detailed electrical engineering building services design and calculations, using Revit and Amtech software to support your knowledge of exemplar building design and performance.
• Embrace technologies to improve performance and sustainability to meet net‑zero targets by 2030.
• Ensure projects are carried out to an excellent standard, within agreed deadlines and budget.
• Represent Buro Happold at meetings with clients, other professionals and suppliers.
• Produce and review reports, presentations, models and drawings to an excellent standard, high level of accuracy and in a timely manner.
• Prepare technical specifications and schedules, design development reports and innovative design solutions.
• Plan and manage input to Revit for production of design work.
• Actively engage with colleagues across disciplines, in group discussions and at events and seminars.
• Mentor more junior team members, potentially leading to an early line management role.
• Autonomously represent Buro Happold to clients, architects and collaborators.
• Deliver hands‑on electrical design work in the residential, commercial and hospitality sectors and lead a team of engineers to deliver outcomes.
• Prepare and review detailed calculations to validate design intent.
• Prepare and review technical specifications and schedules and author design reports.
• Keep the Leadership Team informed of important and relevant service/design decisions taken on your projects and how they align with the project scope and objectives.
• Manage project finances, monitor scope and ensure quality.
• Plan and organise your workload to meet client expectations.
• Attend client, site and external design team meetings.
• Lead the adoption of new analysis packages as required on your projects.

Qualifications

• Broad design knowledge from concept to tender, using Indian and international codes.
• Experience as a Lead Electrical Engineer on projects.
• Domain expertise in the codes and standards relevant to electrical engineering.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Willingness to lead adoption of new analysis packages as required.
• Degree: Bachelor’s (BEng) or Master’s (MEng) in a relevant discipline.
• Experience in residential, commercial and hospitality sectors with a focus on sustainability is highly desirable.
