Job summary

Buro Happold Limited is seeking an enthusiastic Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team in Mumbai. The successful candidate will undertake detailed mechanical engineering design, prepare technical schedules, and manage CAD documentation of design work.

This role includes monitoring technician performance, representing the company in meetings, and mentoring graduate engineers. Candidates should have 3-6 years of experience in mechanical engineering within an MEP consultancy environment.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of experience in mechanical engineering within an MEP consultancy environment.
• Ability to take on a high degree of responsibility in a team-based organisation while also working independently.
• Broad building design knowledge across a wide range of projects.

Job Overview

Responsibilities

• Undertake detailed mechanical engineering design.
• Prepare technical schedules and plan and manage CAD documentation of design work.
• Monitor the performance of technicians as appropriate.
• Represent Buro Happold at meetings with the client, other professionals and suppliers under the guidance of senior staff.
• Ensure service and project work are delivered within agreed deadlines and budget.
• Keep senior staff informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and ensure the objectives of the company and the client are achieved.
• Mentor and assist graduate engineers.

Qualifications

• 3‑6 years of experience in mechanical engineering within an MEP consultancy environment.
• Ability to take on a high degree of responsibility in a team‑based organisation while also working independently.
• Broad building design knowledge across a wide range of projects.
• Strong Excel skills, including use of macros.
• Good understanding of electrical concepts and their impact on overall projects.
• Awareness of other key design team members such as architects, structural and civil engineers.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, IES and Hevacomp software.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from a reputed institute.
