Job summary

Buro Happold Engineer India Private Limited in Mumbai is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead residential, commercial and hospitality electrical design within an international practice.

You will deliver hands-on design, review calculations, write specifications and reports, mentor junior engineers, manage Revit input, and collaborate with clients and cross-disciplinary teams on challenging projects across India and beyond.

Qualifications

• 8-12 years of experience in building services design engineering.
• Broad design knowledge from Concept to Tender using Indian codes.
• Domain expertise in codes and standards in the field.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Willingness to lead adoption of new analysis packages as required on projects.

Responsibilities

• Hands on design deliverables in electrical design in Residential, Commercial and Hospitality sectors and leading a team of Engineers.
• Preparing and reviewing detailed calculations to validate design intent.
• Preparing and reviewing technical specifications and schedules and authoring design reports.
• Keeping Leadership Team informed of important decisions aligned with Project Scope and Objectives.
• Embrace technologies to improve performance and sustainability to meet net zero targets by 2030.
• Ensure projects are carried out to an excellent standard, within deadlines and budget.
• Represent Buro Happold at meetings with clients, other professionals, and suppliers.
• Produce and review reports, presentations, models, and drawings to a high standard and in a timely manner.
• Prepare technical specifications and schedules, design development reports and innovative design solutions.
• Plan and manage input to Revit for production of design work.
• Mentor junior team members and potentially lead to line management.

Your next role

• Represent Buro Happold at meetings with clients, other professionals, and suppliers.

• Prepare technical specifications and schedules, design development reports and innovative design solutions.
• Plan and manage input to Revit for production of design work.
• Actively engage with colleagues across disciplines, in group discussions and at events and seminars.
• Mentor more junior team members, potentially leading to an early line management role.
• Autonomously represents Buro Happold to clients, architects and collaborators.

Your Skills And Experience

• 8-12 years' experience in building services design engineering;
• A broad design knowledge from Concept to Tender Designing - through working on a wide range of projects using Indian codes.
• Domain expertise in codes and standards in your field.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• A willingness to lead adoption of new analysis packages as required on your projects.
• A Bachelors degree BEng or Masters degree MEng in a relevant discipline.
