Job summary

Tata Projects in Hyderabad requires an experienced Electrical Design professional to drive detailed design for thermal power and metal projects. You will prepare SLDs, perform equipment sizing, and ensure conformance with standards across vendor reviews and site support.

Candidate should have 10–15 years in electrical design for thermal power plants/Switchyards, strong communication skills, and a Diploma/BE in Electrical. Role entails team and stakeholder management with strong technical depth.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical design for thermal/coal-based power and metal projects.
• Familiarity with Indian/International design standards and latest software.
• Proficient in creating SLDs, sizing calculations, and cable layouts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare SLDs and equipment sizing calculations for switchyards, transformers, and UPS systems.
• Review vendor documents and provide site technical support and meetings.
• Manage cable schedules, lighting, earthing and cabling layouts; coordinate with stakeholders.

Overall purpose and objective of this position : Proposal & Detailed Engineering

Major responsibilities and function of this position

• Experience in thermal or coal based Power Projects / Metal projects such as ferrous and non-ferrous with proficiency in basic engineering, process design, calculations, equipment sizing, preparation of purchase specifications, technical evaluation of the bids.
• Participation in technical meetings with vendors and clients / consultants, vendor document review / approval and site technical support.
• Candidates should have good process knowledge, analytical capabilities and should be well versed with Indian / International design standards, codes and latest software package
• Knowledge & experience in preparation of SLDs, equipment Sizing Calculations involving Switchyards, Generators, Transformers, Switchgears, Control & Protection Equipments, Bus-ducts, Drives, Cables, DG sets, DC & UPS.
• Preparation of Cable schedules, Lighting, Ear thing & Cabling layouts
• Team Management & Stakeholder Management
