Job summary

Tecnicas Reunidas in Chennai seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the design and specification of main electrical equipment for power plant projects. You will review data sheets, perform sizing calculations, and develop control and protection schematics for large scale generation facilities.

The role requires 10+ years in power plant detail engineering, strong knowledge of IEC/IEEE standards, and coordination with multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of relevant experience in power plant projects (Combined cycles, Coal Fired, Biomass).
• Strong knowledge of generation technologies and generator ancillary systems (excitation, starting, governors, protection).
• Experience in FEED and Detail Engineering; able to review data sheets and bid evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Design of main electrical equipment and materials.
• Prepare and review technical specifications and data sheets.
• Prepare electrical equipment and material sizing calculations.
• Create control and protection schematics and SLDs.
• Conduct Requisitions and Technical Bid Evaluations.
• Coordinate with other technical disciplines involved in the project.
• Demonstrate flexibility to manage changes.
• Commit to health, safety and environmental issues.
• Manage engineering vendors data and report progress.

Job description

Summary of the position

Professionals with Degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of relevant engineering experience in POWER PLANT projects (Combined cycles, Coal Fired, Biomass, etc). Strong knowledge of generation technologies and generator ancillary systems (excitation systems, starting systems, governors, generation protection, synchronization, etc.) and their integration into the electrical system of the plant. Having good experience inFEED and Detail Engineering. Experience in the design of generator circuit breakers and isolated phase busducts Capable to review and develop technical specifications, data sheets, RFQ/RFPs and technical bid evaluation of electrical equipment and materials, mainly related with Power plant projects. Strong skills in single line drawings, schematics and control & protection systems. Good knowledge of International Codes & Standards like IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA, ANSI, IP, ISO. Capable to provide support on technical aspects for the proper development of complex Power Plant projects. Experience in PMT/PMCis desirable.
