Job summary

Innowell Engineering International in Chennai, India is seeking a Senior Design Engineer - HVAC to lead mechanical building systems design within the MEP framework, translating project requirements into functional HVAC designs.

You will perform load calculations, select equipment, and coordinate with electrical, plumbing, fire, and architectural disciplines to deliver accurate construction documents.

Experience with HAP, TRACE700, AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and sustainability standards is required.

Qualifications

• B.E. Mechanical Engineering, 4–6 years of experience.

Responsibilities

Senior Design Engineer - HVACRoles & Responsibilities:The Design Engineer- HVAC plays a critical role in the design anddevelopment of mechanical building systems within the MEP framework, ensuring optimal performance, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. This position is responsible for translating project requirements andarchitecturalconceptsintofunctionalHVACsystemdesignsthatalign with technical specifications, sustainability goals, and client expectations.Theroledemandsstronganalyticalanddesigncapabilitiestoperformload calculations, equipment selection, ducting and piping design, and energy optimization while coordinating effectively with electrical, plumbing, fire, and architectural disciplines. The Design Engineer-HVAC contributes to allstagesoftheprojectlifecycle-fromconceptandschematicdesignthrough detailed design and construction documentation - ensuring technical accuracy, constructability, and cost-effectiveness. Through innovation,attention to detail, and collaboration, this role supports the delivery ofhigh-quality, efficient, and reliable MEP engineering solutions.Qualifications:B.E. Skill Sets Required

1. 1. Proficiency in HVAC system design–load calculation, duct design,chilled water system, and ventilation.
2. 2. Experience in heat load calculation software (e.g., HAP,TRACE700).
3. 3. Hands-on experience with Auto CAD, Revit MEP, and Navisworks for layout and coordination.
4. 4. Understanding of HVAC equipment selection (AHU, FCU, chillers, pumps, ducts, diffusers, etc.).
5. 5. Knowledge of energy efficiency, green building concepts, andsustainability standards.
6. 6. Ability to prepare and review design drawings, BOQs, and technicalspecifications.
7. 7. Familiarity with site coordination, inspection, and project executionfollow-up.
8. 8. Good command of MSExce land report preparation for load summaries and equipment schedules.

1. 1. AutoCAD/Revit MEP Certification–For proficiency in design draftingand BIM modeling.
2. 2. Carrier HAP/TRACE700 Software Certification–For HVAcalculations and energy modeling.
