Job summary

Samsung E&A India seeks a seasoned HVAC Design Engineer with 10-18 years of experience to lead design activities for FEED, Proposal and EPC projects. You will perform load calculations, 3D modeling, and detailed drawings.

You will coordinate across disciplines, mentor junior engineers, and ensure compliance with ASHRAE, SMACNA and local codes. Proficiency in BIM-Revit and SP3D/E3D is essential.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed university or institute.
• Experience with HVAC design standards and project deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Carry out HVAC load calculation using Carrier HAP E-20 and equipment selection per project specifications.
• Design HVAC & Plumbing systems for FEED, Proposal and EPC projects.
• Prepare and review HVAC AFD, P&ID, layouts, control system design, RFQ, TBE, PR & vendor prints.
• 3D modeling of HVAC & Plumbing systems using BIM-Revit, SP3D/E3D environment.
• Proficient in Autodesk-Revit to guide modelers for 3D modeling, schedules, MTO, drawings, clash resolution, and family creation.
• Coordinate with Electrical/ Architecture/ Instrumentation/ Firefighting disciplines.
• Establish design philosophy, standard drawings, and work instructions.
• Manage deliverable schedule and project KPI.
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct technical training sessions.
• Review design information and vendor prints.
• Communicate with site teams and head office to resolve issues efficiently.

Role & responsibilities

• Carry out HVAC load calculation using Carrier HAP E-20, ventilation system, design basis, equipment selection as per project specifications.
• Perform basic and detail design of HVAC & Plumbing System for FEED, Proposal and EPC projects.
• Hands on experience of preparation and review of HVAC AFD, P&ID, conceptual & detail layout drawings, HVAC control system design, HVAC package RFQ, TBE, PR & vendor print review, HVAC BOQ etc.
• Hands on experience of 3D modeling of HVAC & Plumbing systems using BIM-Revit, S3D/E3D environment, drawing and touch-up work.
• Proficient in Autodesk-Revit to perform as well as guide modelers for 3D modeling including various schedules, material take off, drawing sheet annotation, 2D drawing and detailing, clash detection and resolution, Revit family creation, rendering, etc. for HVAC & Plumbing systems
• Knowledge of plumbing design basis for Buildings, hands on experience in calculation, layout and BOQ would be an added advantage
• Coordinate with various engineering disciplines, viz., Electrical/ Architecture/ Instrumentation/ Firefighting etc.
• Review ITB, Identify TQ / VE / BP, maintain log of VE / BP / LL / Change register and update knowledge base,
• Establish design philosophy, standard drawings, and work instruction.
• Manage deliverable schedule, project KPI.
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct technical training sessions.
• Review of design information and vendor prints.
• Conduct model reviews, identify clashes, and resolve them effectively.
• Communicate with site teams and head office to resolve various issues efficiently.

Preferred candidate profile

• Good working knowledge of international codes & standards, viz.,, ASHRAE, SMACNA, AMCA, ARI, NFPA, DW 142, 143 etc., Indian local regulations (IS, NBC, OISD etc.), Plumbing codes, viz., IPC, UPC etc.
• BIM-Revit, SP3D/E3D, Navisworks, AutoCAD.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive (feedforward) mindset.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience in working / interfacing with multidisciplinary teams .
• Competency to achieve project targets and schedule.
• Field engineering experience.
• Must have hands-on Revit-MEP experience.

B.E. / B. Tech (Mechanical) from reputed university / institute

• 10- 18 years of overall experience in HVAC design.
• Preferably 8 years of experience in the oil & gas, petrochemical, or refinery sectors.
