Job summary

Responsibilities

• Study tender, BOQ, Job Task Sheets, URS Drawings during sales handover.
• Reconfirm requirements and perform capacity calculations (HVAC, Electrical, BMS, Mechanical utility) as per scope.
• Highlight ambiguities found during detailed designing concerning the sales BOQ.
• Provide design calculations to the Design team for drawing preparations and ensure timely submittals.
• Coordinate with Client/Consultant for approvals of submitted drawings.
• Indent material per approved drawings with quantification backup; maintain records including GFC drawings.
• Generate PO variance and indent material; coordinate submittals for vendor qualification with procurement.
• Provide weekly project-wise reports on drawings, product submittals, and timelines.

Job description

This role supports the successful execution of projects by performing design-related calculations, verifying technical documents, preparing and coordinating design data for drawing development, and ensuring compliance with project requirements. The Design Engineer contributes effectively to planning, coordination, and timely project deliverables.

1. Tender and Document Study
Study tender, Bill of Quantities, Job Task Sheets, URS Drawings, and other provided documents during the sales handover.

2. Reconfirmation and Capacity Calculations
Reconfirm requirements onto relevant documents for various building services and perform capacity calculations (HVAC, Electrical, BMS, Mechanical utility, CRP, CRE) as per the scope of supply.

3. Ambiguity Highlighting
Highlight any ambiguities found during detailed designing concerning the sales BOQ.

4. Design Calculations and Coordination
Provide all design calculations to the Design team required for drawing preparations.
Ensure timely submittals of all drawings as per project timelines.

5. Client/Consultant Coordination
Coordinate with the Client/Consultant for speedy approvals of submitted drawings.

6. Material Indenting and Record Maintenance Indent material as per approved drawings with proper quantification backup for future reference.
Maintain proper records of all work in both digital and physical formats for future reference, including GFC (Good for Construction) drawings.

7. Client Purchase Order Variance and Product Submittals Generate PO variance and indent material as per the final approved drawings.
Coordinate product submittals for approval and vendor technical qualification with the purchase team.

8. Reporting and Timelines Provide weekly project-wise reports on the status of drawings, product submittals, and timelines.

Experience:
7-9 years of Experience in design coordination or a similar role in the engineering industry.
Familiarity with tender documents, BOQ, and design standards.
Experience with project coordination and client/consultant interaction

Skills: Proficiency in technical document analysis and interpretation.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and coordination skills.
