Job summary

Fichtner Consulting Engineers is seeking a skilled Civil Draftsman to prepare and update architectural, civil and structural drawings. You will produce site layouts, grading plans, and 3D models, and generate detailed construction drawings, ensuring consistency across multidisciplinary deliverables for renewable energy and power projects.

The role requires proficiency in AutoCAD, strong attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical specifications.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare and update architectural, civil and structural drawings including site layouts, grading plans, earthworks, roads and drainage layouts, foundations, GA drawings and as-built drawings.
• Generate detailed plans, elevations, sections and construction details; develop 3D models and extract 2D drawings as required.
• Prepare reinforcement detailing and bar bending schedules (BBS) as applicable.
• Ensure drawing consistency across multidisciplinary project deliverables.
• Review design inputs and ensure compliance with client requirements, IS codes and project quality procedures.
• Integrate comments from engineering reviews and client feedback into final drawings.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers and team members to resolve design issues and implement solutions.
• Maintain records of design changes and assemble comprehensive documentation packages.
• Conduct self-checks and drawing reviews prior to submission.

Role & responsibilities

• Prepare and update architectural, civil and structural drawings, including:
• Site layouts
• Grading plans, Earthworks
• Roads and drainage layouts
• Foundations
• Structural concrete and steel drawings
• General arrangement (GA) drawings
• As-built drawings
• Generate detailed plans, elevations, sections, and construction details.
• Develop 3D models and extract 2D drawings where required.
• Prepare reinforcement detailing and bar bending schedules (BBS) as applicable.
• Ensure drawing consistency across multidisciplinary project deliverables

Technical Compliance:

• Review design inputs, engineering calculations, sketches, and specifications received from engineers.
• Ensure all drawings comply with: Client requirements, Applicable IS Codes, Industry standards and Project quality procedures
• Integrate comments from engineering reviews and client feedback into final drawings.

Collaboration and Support:

• Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other team members to resolve design issues and implement solutions.
• Provide technical information and ideas to support the engineering team.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

• Maintain accurate records of design changes and follow document control procedures.
• Prepare and assemble comprehensive documentation packages.

Quality Assurance:

• Check technical drafts for accuracy in calculations, measurements, and units.
• Perform quality checks on drawings for function, fit, and producibility.
• Verify dimensions, levels, coordinates, and quantities in drawings.
• Conduct self-checks and drawing reviews prior to submission.

Preferred candidate profile

Minimum 05 to 07 years of experience in civil drafting, preferably in renewable energy and power projects
