Job summary

Quest Global in Bengaluru seeks an experienced CFD Engineer to perform CFD and thermal analyses for mechanical systems. You will develop methods to simulate flow, heat transfer, and turbulence, automate simulations, and present findings to stakeholders, driving design improvements.

You will work with cross-functional teams, validate results, and contribute to design reviews while adhering to Quest Global processes and values. Strong CAD and manufacturing awareness are essential.

Qualifications

  • Expertise with ANSYS CFD tools (CFX/Fluent, Mesher, SpaceClaim, Workbench).
  • Experience in flow analysis of turbomachinery in power generation, oil & gas, aviation, and rail domains.
  • Hands-on experience with steady-state, transient, rotating machinery, conjugate heat transfer, multiphase, and FSI simulations.
  • Strong fundamentals in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer; CAD familiarity for model prep.
  • Ability to learn CFD tasks quickly and deliver with prescribed quality.
  • Awareness of fabrication, casting, forging, and machining processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CFD and thermal analysis for mechanical systems and interpret findings to provide actionable design insights.
  • Develop and validate computational methods to simulate fluid flow, heat transfer, and turbulence.
  • Develop scripts for automation and improve simulation accuracy.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations communicating CFD findings to stakeholders.
  • Participate in technical design reviews and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with design and development teams to integrate CFD results into product development.
  • Provide design solutions to optimize product functionality, reliability and stability; support testing and verification.
  • Adhere to Quest Global process compliance and demonstrate core values.
  • Collaborate with global and local teams and be flexible to work in shifts.

Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • To perform CFD and thermal analysis for mechanical systems and follow best practices for accurate computational efficiency, interpret findings, and provide actionable insights and recommendations for system design improvements.
  • Develop and validate computational methods to simulate fluid flow, heat transfer, and turbulence and analyze the results to understand system behavior.
  • Develop scripts for automation, improve simulation accuracy, and contribute to new CFD analysis methods.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate CFD findings to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Take part in technical design reviews and recommend improvements.
  • Work closely with design and development teams to integrate CFD analysis results into the product development process.
  • Provide effective design solutions to optimize product functionality, reliability and stability; partner with testing team in developing and executing design verification plans and mechanical testing methods.
  • Adhere to Quest Global process compliance and demonstrate QuEST Core values to add value to the customer.
  • Collaborate with global and local teams at Quest and customer premises and be flexible to work in shifts.
Required Experience
  • Expertise with commercial CFD software such as ANSYS – CFX/Fluent, ANSYS Mesher, ANSYS Spaceclaim, Workbench.
  • Knowledge and experience in flow analysis of turbomachinery components in power generation, oil & gas, aviation, rail domains.
  • Hands‑on experience working on steady‑state, transient, rotating machinery, conjugate heat transfer, multiphase, FSI simulations.
  • Strong understanding of advanced fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer principles; familiarity with CAD software for model preparation.
  • Ability to quickly learn and deliver CFD tasks with prescribed quality levels.
  • Awareness of manufacturing processes such as fabrication, casting, forging and machining.

3+ to 8 years of experience; Master’s degree in Aero, Thermal, CFD, or Mechanical Engineering.

Expertise in using ANSYS CFD Suite – Spaceclaim, Fluent Mesher, Fluent/CFX solver.
