Role Overview The CFD Simulation Engineer is responsible for developing and executing high-fidelity computational fluid dynamics simulations to analyze aerodynamic performance, fluid flow behavior, and thermal characteristics of aerospace and defence systems. This role focuses on applying first-principles engineering and numerical methods to support design decisions, optimize system performance, and enable simulation‑driven development across various platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform CFD simulations for aerodynamic, thermal, and fluid flow analysis across aerospace systems
- Develop computational models, including geometry preparation, meshing, and solver setup
- Define appropriate physics models, boundary conditions, and numerical schemes
- Analyze simulation results and provide actionable insights for design improvements
- Conduct parametric studies, sensitivity analyses, and optimization studies
- Collaborate with design, propulsion, and systems teams to support engineering development
- Validate simulation results through comparison with experimental or test data where available
- Document simulation methodologies, assumptions, and findings in structured technical reports
Core Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline
- Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer
- Experience with CFD tools such as ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, CFX, or OpenFOAM
- Familiarity with meshing strategies and numerical methods for fluid simulations
- Ability to interpret and analyze complex simulation data
- Basic programming or scripting skills (Python, MATLAB, or similar)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace, UAVs, or high-performance fluid systems
- Understanding of turbulence modeling, compressible flows, or multiphase simulations
- Exposure to aerodynamic design, propulsion systems, or thermal management
- Experience with validation, testing correlation, or experimental data analysis
