Job summary

Khatib & Alami in Bengaluru seeks a Lead CFD Engineer to deliver advanced CFD solutions for HVAC, tunnel ventilation, fire life safety, and water systems across infrastructure projects.

You will lead and mentor a team, collaborate with architects and MEP teams, ensure technical excellence, timely delivery, and adherence to international standards and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 9–15 years of proven CFD experience across building, energy, water, and infrastructure sectors.
• Building services/infrastructure project experience is mandatory.
• Middle East project experience is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of fluid flow, heat transfer, fire dynamics, turbulence, and multiphase flows.

Responsibilities

• Lead CFD analysis projects for building services (HVAC, smoke control, etc.).
• Manage and mentor junior CFD engineers to ensure quality and timely delivery.
• Coordinate with architects, structural and MEP teams to integrate CFD insights into design solutions.

Job Summary:

As a Lead CFD Engineer will be responsible for delivering advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) solutions across HVAC, tunnel ventilation, fire life safety, water systems, and infrastructure projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to guide teams while ensuring compliance with international standards and client expectations.

Qualifications & Skills

• Master’s / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 9 - 15 years of proven CFD experience across building, energy, water, and infrastructure sectors.
• Building services / Infrastructure projects experience is Mandatory.
• Middle East Project Experience is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of fluid flow, heat transfer, fire dynamics, turbulence, and multiphase flows.
• Proficiency in CFD tools: ANSYS (SpaceClaim, Fluent/CFX, CFD Post), OpenFOAM, PyroSim (FDS), Pathfinder, SimScale.
• Excellent reporting, leadership, people & project management skills.
• Fire Life Safety experience in building projects will be considered an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Project Management

• Lead CFD analysis projects for building services (HVAC, smoke control, thermal comfort, etc.).
• Manage and mentor junior CFD engineers, ensuring technical excellence and timely delivery.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and MEP teams to integrate CFD insights into design solutions. Mentor and supervise junior engineers, ensuring quality and timely delivery of projects.

Technical Expertise

• Perform advanced CFD simulations for airflow, heat transfer, and contaminant dispersion in complex building environments. (thermal comfort (indoor/outdoor), external flow analysis for chillers and cooling towers, and thermal performance of data canters).
• Emergency ventilation system design for car parks, atriums, and corridors using CFD for fire and smoke modeling.
• Hydraulic behaviour and residence time analysis for water systems, storage tanks, reservoirs and pumping stations.
• Develop and validate CFD models using industry-standard tools (ANSYS Spaceclaim, CFX/Fluent, CFD-Post, OpenFOAM, Pyrosim, FDS & Pathfinder).
