Job summary

ANZ Banking Group in Bengaluru is seeking a Senior Business Analyst (AVP) to contribute across payment projects. You will translate complex payment flows, regulatory rules, and customer needs into clear user stories, processes, and acceptance criteria, partnering with technology and business stakeholders.

You will collaborate within squads, drive end-to-end requirements, support UAT and deployment, and help ensure payment transformations align with regulatory and resilience standards.

Qualifications

• Proven BA experience in Banking and Payments.
• Strong knowledge of payment systems (NPP, RTGS, SWIFT, ISO20022).
• Experience in requirements elicitation and acceptance criteria.

About the Role

As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for contributing to a range of Payment projects. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders and demonstrate strong payments domain knowledge and requirement elicitation skills. You are accountable for shaping clear, end-to-end requirements, collaborating deeply with technology and various business stakeholders, and ensuring change is safe, resilient, and aligned to the Payments operating model. BAs translate complex payment flows, regulatory obligations, scheme rules, customer needs, and technical constraints into actionable user stories, process designs, and acceptance criteria that enable high-quality delivery. Aligned to a Service Line and embedded in squads, BAs ensure the work is defined, understood, testable, supportable, and traceable — from inception through to release and operational readiness. What will your day look like?

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will:

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst within the Banking and Payments domain.
• Strong knowledge of domestic and payment systems such as NPP, RTGS, SWIFT, Direct Entry, BPAY, Cross-Border Payments, ISO20022, Clearing and Settlement.
• Demonstrated experience in requirements elicitation, process mapping, user story creation, and acceptance criteria definition.
• Experience conducting end-to-end payment flow analysis and impact assessments across multiple systems and stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of Agile delivery practices and working with Product Owners and cross-functional teams.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs into clear and actionable requirements.
• Exposure to regulatory, compliance, resilience, and payment transformation programs will be highly regarded.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:

• Proven Business Analyst experience within Banking and Payments.
• Strong knowledge of Domestic Payments, including exposure to NPP, RTGS, SWIFT, Direct Entry, BPAY, Cross-Border Payments, Clearing, Settlement, Reconciliation and ISO20022.
• Experience in requirements elicitation, business process analysis, stakeholder workshops, impact assessment and solution definition.
• Ability to create user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, business rules, data mappings and payment flow documentation.
• Experience analysing end-to-end payment flows, including upstream/downstream impacts, operational processes and data flows.
• Strong understanding of Agile delivery practices, including backlog refinement, sprint planning and story grooming.
• Experience collaborating with Product Owners, Technology, Architecture, Operations, Risk, Compliance and Testing teams.
• Ability to translate complex requirements into clear, testable and traceable outcomes.
• Experience supporting UAT, regression testing, defect management, release readiness and implementation activities.
• Knowledge of regulatory, risk, control and operational resilience frameworks relevant to Payments.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exposure to payment transformation, regulatory change, platform migration or ISO20022 programs will be highly regarded.
