Job summary

Persistent Systems Limited is seeking a Senior Azure Network Architect to design and govern enterprise-scale Azure networking across hybrid environments. The role focuses on VNets, ExpressRoute, Private Endpoints, and secure connectivity solutions.

You will drive IaC deployments using Terraform, Bicep, and ARM templates, implement security controls, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on large-scale modernization initiatives.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of experience in Network Engineering, Cloud Infra, or Cloud Architecture.
• Strong expertise in Azure Networking and Azure IaaS.
• Deep knowledge of Azure VNets, ExpressRoute, NSGs, and security architecture.
• Experience with hybrid cloud networking and enterprise connectivity.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable Azure networking solutions (VNets, subnets, routing, segmentation).
• Architect secure connectivity using ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, and Virtual WAN.
• Design and manage load balancing (Azure Load Balancer, Application Gateway, Traffic Manager).
• Implement Private Link/Endpoints and Private Endpoints for private connectivity.
• Develop hybrid networking architectures integrating on-prem with Azure.
• Define DNS strategies using Azure DNS and private zones.
• Utilize Azure Monitor and Network Watcher for observability and diagnostics.
• Automate deployments with Terraform/Bicep/ARM templates.
• Enforce governance with Azure Policies, RBAC, and blueprints.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Azure Network Architect with strong expertise in Azure networking, hybrid connectivity, security architecture, and cloud infrastructure modernization. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the VMware Exit Program by designing, implementing, and governing enterprise-scale Azure networking solutions. This role requires deep technical knowledge of Azure IaaS, hybrid connectivity, cloud security, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and migration architectures to support large-scale digital transformation initiatives.

What You’ll Do:

• Design and implement scalable Azure networking solutions including Virtual Networks (VNets), subnets, routing, and network segmentation.
• Architect secure and resilient connectivity solutions using ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, and Virtual WAN.
• Design and manage load balancing solutions using Azure Load Balancer, Application Gateway, and Traffic Manager.
• Implement secure private connectivity using Private Link, Private Endpoints, and Service Endpoints.
• Develop hybrid networking architectures integrating on-premises environments with Azure cloud services.
• Design DNS and name resolution strategies using Azure DNS, private DNS zones, and split-horizon DNS configurations.
• Utilize Azure Network Watcher and Azure Monitor for observability, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring.
• Automate infrastructure deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies such as Terraform, Bicep, and ARM templates.
• Implement governance controls using Azure Policies, Management Groups, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and enterprise standards.
• Support VMware-to-Azure migration initiatives and design migration-ready network architectures.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, application, security, and enterprise architecture teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Perform network capacity planning, performance optimization, and availability assessments.
• Develop cloud design patterns, reference architectures, and governance guardrails.
• Conduct risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies for networking and security challenges.
• Drive business continuity, disaster recovery, and resilience planning initiatives.
• Participate in Agile delivery processes, sprint planning, architecture reviews, and technical governance forums.
• Document architecture designs, implementation approaches, operational procedures, and best practices.

Expertise You’ll Bring:

• 8 to 12 years of experience in Network Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, or Cloud Architecture roles.
• Strong expertise in Azure Networking services and Azure Infrastructure (IaaS).
• Deep understanding of Azure Virtual Networks, Virtual WAN, ExpressRoute, VPN, Route Tables, NSGs, and network security architecture.
• Expertise in hybrid cloud networking and enterprise connectivity solutions.
• Strong experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, and ARM templates.
• Experience managing Azure Management Groups, Policies, Blueprints, and governance frameworks.
• Knowledge of Azure Private Link, Private Endpoints, Service Endpoints, and secure cloud connectivity patterns.
• Strong understanding of Azure Monitor, Azure Network Watcher, logging, monitoring, and operational visibility tools.
• Experience designing secure email infrastructure and compliance-focused network architectures.
• Experience developing business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.
• Proven experience supporting VMware-to-Azure migration programs and modernization initiatives.
• Strong technical decision-making capability with the ability to evaluate architecture trade-offs.
• Experience collaborating with enterprise architects, security teams, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
