Job summary

Persistent Systems Limited is seeking an experienced Azure Platform Engineer to join our team in a role focused on cloud administration, automation, and platform governance. The ideal candidate will deploy, configure, and maintain secure Azure infrastructure while implementing CI/CD pipelines and IaC using Terraform.

You will manage Azure services across Development, Test, Staging, and Production, enforce governance, optimize costs, and collaborate with development teams to improve deployment

Qualifications

• Experience in Azure Platform Administration, especially within PaaS environments.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform IaC and GitHub-based workflows.
• Strong knowledge of Azure governance, policies, cost optimization, and security controls.

We are seeking an experienced Azure Platform Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Azure platform administration, particularly in PaaS environments. You will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining secure, scalable, and highly available Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure. This role requires a proactive approach to managing cloud landscapes and implementing best practices in DevOps, automation, and platform governance.

What You'll Do:

• Deploy, configure, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure.
• Provision and manage Azure services across Development, Test, Staging, and Production environments.
• Implement Azure governance frameworks including resource policies, tagging strategies, cost management, and security controls.
• Monitor platform performance, availability, and reliability while proactively identifying optimization opportunities.
• Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, deployment, networking, and application-related issues.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
• Automate application build, testing, deployment, and release processes.
• Implement CI/CD best practices and automated provisioning across cloud environments.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.
• Standardize infrastructure deployments through reusable modules and templates.
• Administer GitHub Enterprise organizations, repositories, teams, users, and permission models.
• Configure repository governance standards, security controls, branch protection rules, and development workflows.
• Support developers with Git workflows, branching strategies, pull requests, and repository management.
• Document platform architectures, operational procedures, governance standards, and best practices.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize deployment processes and platform adoption.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• Strong experience in Azure Platform Administration, particularly within PaaS environments.
• Proficiency in implementing Azure governance frameworks, policies, resource management, and cost optimization strategies.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions for CI/CD automation.
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Experience in GitHub Enterprise Administration and governance.
• Strong understanding of Azure networking, cloud architecture, and platform services.
• Familiarity with cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.
• Experience with monitoring and optimization tools for Azure environments.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts in cloud environments.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
• Expertise in cloud infrastructure deployment, automation, and operational support.
• Experience managing large-scale Azure environments across multiple stages and workloads.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience implementing platform reliability, scalability, and operational excellence practices.
• Ability to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to document and enforce platform standards, governance policies, and operational procedures.
