Job summary
Persistent Systems is seeking a Senior Azure Infrastructure Architect to define and govern cloud architecture, security, and modernization initiatives across global delivery. You will lead Azure infrastructure design, landing zones, and governance, partnering with stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable cloud solutions.
The role requires 12–15 years of experience in infrastructure/cloud architecture, strong Azure expertise, and hands-on Terraform-based IaC.

- Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure Infrastructure and Cloud Architecture.
- Experience designing Azure Landing Zones and enterprise-scale cloud platforms.
- Hands-on IaC with Terraform.
- Experience leading Azure migration and cloud transformation projects.
- Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps best practices.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the strategic direction for cloud infrastructure and platform architecture.
- Act as the primary design authority for Azure infrastructure and cloud architecture decisions.
- Evaluate architecture options and provide recommendations aligned with business and technology strategies.
- Develop enterprise cloud architecture standards, reference architectures, and best practices.
- Design and review Azure Landing Zone architectures following CAF principles.
- Define resource organization strategies using Management Groups, subscriptions, and governance controls.
- Design scalable Azure networking architectures using VNets, ExpressRoute, VPNs, DNS, Azure Firewall, and Private Endpoints.
- Establish cloud architecture blueprints, reusable patterns, and implementation standards.
- Ensure architecture alignment with enterprise security and compliance requirements.
- Define cloud security architecture and governance frameworks.
- Collaborate with security teams on identity, access management, and data protection strategies.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Azure Infrastructure Architect with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure Cloud Architecture, Infrastructure Design, Security, Governance, and Enterprise Cloud Transformation. The ideal candidate will play a strategic role in defining and governing cloud architecture standards while partnering with business and technology stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions. This role requires strong leadership, architecture governance, stakeholder management, and hands-on expertise across Azure infrastructure, networking, security, DevOps, and cloud migration initiatives.

- Partner with customer stakeholders to understand business objectives, technical requirements, and transformation goals.
- Define and drive the strategic direction for cloud infrastructure and platform architecture.
- Act as the primary design authority for Azure infrastructure and cloud architecture decisions.

- Review architecture designs to identify security risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, security frameworks, and organizational policies.
- Develop cloud security guardrails and operational controls.
- Work closely with Product Owners and delivery teams to prioritize technical initiatives and architecture requirements.
- Participate in sprint planning, solution reviews, and architecture governance processes.
- Define acceptance and validation criteria for technical work items.
- Support delivery teams during implementation, deployment, and migration phases.
- Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Drive cloud engineering excellence through DevOps and Infrastructure as Code best practices.
- Establish reusable architecture patterns, deployment frameworks, and governance controls.
- Support CI/CD adoption and cloud automation initiatives.
- Promote operational excellence, automation scalability, and reliability practices across platforms.
- Standardize cloud deployment and infrastructure management processes.
- Participate in Architecture Review Boards and technical governance forums.
- Present architecture decisions, recommendations, risks, and mitigation plans to leadership teams.
- Build strong relationships with technical and business stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment between cloud architecture, customer standards, and business strategy.
- Provide technical leadership during enterprise transformation initiatives.
- 12 to 15 years of experience in Infrastructure Architecture, Cloud Architecture, or Enterprise Infrastructure Engineering.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure Infrastructure and Cloud Architecture.
- Extensive experience designing Azure Landing Zones and enterprise-scale cloud platforms.
- Deep knowledge of Azure Networking Services including Virtual Networks, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, DNS, Azure Firewall, and Private Endpoints.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Entra ID, Identity and Access Management (IAM), RBAC, and security controls.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Expertise in Azure Governance services including Management Groups, Policies, Blueprints, and Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF).
- Strong understanding of enterprise security architecture, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
- Proven experience designing Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and resiliency solutions.
- Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Microsoft Sentinel, and operational monitoring frameworks.
- Strong experience leading Azure migration and cloud transformation projects.
- Knowledge of CI/CD implementation standards and DevOps best practices.
- Experience establishing cloud governance frameworks, cloud operating models, and architectural guardrails.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate architecture trade-offs.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
- Experience working with enterprise architecture boards and executive leadership teams.
