Persistent Systems Limited in India is seeking an experienced Senior Azure Data Engineer to join our expanding data engineering team and help build next‑generation healthcare data platforms.

You will work with large-scale data ecosystems, modern cloud technologies, and advanced analytics to enable data‑driven decision making across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field and practical experience.
• 6–10 years in Data Engineering, Big Data, or Cloud Data Platform development.
• 6–7 years with Azure or AWS cloud platforms.
• 5+ years hands-on with Databricks and Kafka.
• Strong experience with Apache Spark and data services.
• Experience with Azure Data Services and cloud-native architectures.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps, and Agile delivery.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product owners and engineers to deliver data solutions on an Agile roadmap.
• Design, build, test, and maintain enterprise-scale data pipelines.
• Develop scalable cloud-based data solutions using Azure or AWS.
• Build data processing frameworks using Databricks and Spark.
• Implement real-time and batch data ingestion with Kafka.
• Use Airflow for workflow orchestration and scheduling.

• Collaborate with product owners, architects, business analysts, and engineering teams to deliver data solutions aligned with an Agile roadmap.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-scale data pipelines and data-intensive applications.
• Develop scalable cloud-based data solutions utilizing Azure or AWS services.
• Build and optimize large-scale data processing frameworks using Databricks and Apache Spark.
• Design and implement real-time and batch data ingestion pipelines leveraging Kafka.
• Develop and maintain workflow orchestration processes using Apache Airflow.
• Integrate data from multiple sources including APIs, relational databases, non-relational databases, and cloud platforms.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs to support data services and integrations.
• Support Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) and Container-as-a-Service (CaaS) initiatives.
• Develop fault-tolerant, highly available, and performance-optimized data architectures.
• Implement data quality, governance, security, and monitoring controls across the data platform.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to improve CI/CD processes and deployment automation.
• Build and maintain infrastructure automation, monitoring frameworks, and operational dashboards.
• Utilize incident and service management tools such as ServiceNow to support production environments.
• Participate in deployment planning, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and platform reliability initiatives.
• Collaborate on quality engineering strategies that ensure data platform resilience, scalability, and security.
• Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to the data ecosystem.

ExpertiseYou'llBring:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6-10 years of experience in Data Engineering, Big Data, or Cloud Data Platform development.
• 6-7 years of experience working with Azure or AWS cloud platforms.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience with Databricks and Kafka.
• Strong experience building distributed data processing applications using Apache Spark.
• Experience working with Azure Data Services and cloud‑native data architectures.
• Strong knowledge of batch and streaming data processing frameworks.
• Hands‑on experience with Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration and scheduling.
• Experience with Snowflake data warehousing solutions.
• Strong understanding of relational and non‑relational database technologies.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and large‑scale data management principles.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data platforms.
• Understanding of software engineering principles including reliability engineering, automation, and fault‑tolerant architectures.
• Experience with containerization technologies and cloud‑native deployment methodologies.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow and production support processes.
