Job description

Persistent is seeking a highly experienced Azure Architect to lead complex migration projects from On-Prem to Azure. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Azure migration, including discovery, assessment, and execution phases, and will be proficient in designing robust target environments using Azure Landing Zones and the Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF). The architect should be able to work independently, conduct client workshops, and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

What You'll Do:

• Azure Migration Leadership: Lead end-to-end migration projects, including discovery, assessment, planning, and execution of workloads from Linux platforms to Azure.
• Migration Assessment & Strategy: Conduct detailed assessments of legacy environments, identify dependencies, and develop migration strategies leveraging Azure Migrate and related tools.
• Target Environment Design: Architect scalable, secure, and compliant Azure environments using Landing Zones and CAF best practices.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Conduct workshops, technical sessions, and regular communications with customer teams, application owners, architects, and governance stakeholders.
• Migration Execution: Oversee migration execution, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal performance, and validate functional equivalence post-migration.
• Automation & DevOps: Design and implement CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation (Terraform, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions), and container orchestration (AKS, Docker).
• Documentation & Reporting: Prepare migration documentation, technical reports, and status updates for internal and client stakeholders.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• Azure Migration Expertise: Extensive hands‑on experience with Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery, and related migration tools.
• Landing Zones & CAF: Proven ability to design and implement Azure Landing Zones and apply Cloud Adoption Framework principles.
• Legacy System Assessment: Strong background in assessing and migrating workloads from On-Prem Linux and legacy applications.
• Technical Depth: Deep understanding of Linux operating systems, legacy build systems, and cross‑platform compilation.
• DevOps & Automation: Proficiency in Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, AKS).
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to conduct workshops, present solutions, and engage with stakeholders independently.
• Independent Working: Ability to work autonomously, drive migration projects, and mentor junior team members.
