Job summary

Addverb Technologies in India is seeking a project design engineer to create and review detailed design documents for input to panel, programmer and control architecture teams. You will act as a single point of contact for project stakeholders and help drive the project control team to deliver robust solutions.

You will participate in requirement gathering, system design, change management and site handover while ensuring accuracy, safety, and timely delivery.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Participate in IKOM/EKOM and interact with solution design team to understand project scope.
• Review mechanical design layouts and capture designer requirements for control integration.

• Incorporate lessons learned from prior projects into current designs where applicable.
• Coordinate training from R&D Controls or third-party suppliers for new solutions.

Job Responsibilities

1. 1. Requirement Gathering
   • a. Actively participate in the IKOM / EKOM and interact with solution design team to understand the scope of
   • b. Review the mechanical design layout and understand the requirements from designers
   • c. Visit commissioned site for understanding the implementation and new site for due diligence (study the site conditions, conduct gap analysis / risk assessment) wherever required
   • d. Go through the lessons learnt report (from prior projects) and incorporate those lessons in the current project(s), if applicable
   • e. In case of new solution/product being used in the given project undergo training from relevant stakeholders
     (R&D Controls team or third-party solution suppliers)
2. 2. Detailed System Design
   • a. Based on the mechanical layouts for the project, review device layout, power, and network layout diagrams control design specification for the approval of the customer (DAP)
   • b. Review the SLD, GA drawings prepared by panel architect team
   • c. Create system architecture and project overview document as per the specific project requirement
   • d. Carry out value engineering in terms of new technology, control architecture to reduce project timeline & cost, interaction with the vendors as and when required
   • e. Review the system considering the budgeted cost
   • f. Prepare safety matrix for the control system for the customer
   • g. Incorporate suggestions and seek final approval on the design
   • h. Create control philosophy for the project and prepare IO list that will act as an input to control architecture and
   • panel architecture teams
   • i. Review the design with automation team
   • j. Provide detailed control design to automation team
   • k. Handover and detail briefing to execution / implementation team, enable them for implementation
   • l. Review the design, safety matrix, control philosophy prepared by team
3. 3. Change Management
   • a. Participate in review meetings and identify / understand any change in customer requirements, project scope etc. that is likely to impact control design
   • b. Discuss with project manager / PMO / SCM and document the impact of the proposed changes to project timeline and cost
   • c. Discuss internally generated changes which occur due to control design as well as SCM (availability of item/product) for the impact on cost and time
   • d. Identify nonvalue added activity in day-to-day routine/processes in the function and work on elimination of the same
   • e. Identify time consuming manual value-added activity and convert those into automated processes
   • f. Drive/Encourage changes in the function/processes with new technology
   • g. Site Support & Site Handover
   • Act as SPOC for the project with all stakeholders (PMO / SCM / R&D /Software & IT / Customer)
   • Provide remote support to site team during installation & commissioning
   • Visit the site, if required, for troubleshooting and resolving issues Incorporate site changes in the design to generate as-built documents

   • a. Monitor and review design activities to meet agreed timelines
   • Monitor the performance with related to accuracy in design any deviations in design
