Job summary

Plastics For Change is seeking a Senior Associate – Vendor Compliance & Risk Management to support due diligence for vendors and ensure compliance with statutory and financial requirements. The role involves coordinating with external agencies for background verification and maintaining a robust vendor risk framework.

You will monitor adherence to agreements, collect and audit documents, and collaborate across Procurement, Finance, Legal, and Operations to mitigate risk and strengthen governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, or Operations.
• 3-5 years of vendor management, procurement, compliance, risk management, or related experience.
• Experience with vendor onboarding and due diligence, including background verification.

Responsibilities

• Perform vendor due diligence checks pre-onboarding, including registration, GST/PAN validation, ownership, and licenses.
• Coordinate with external agencies for background verification and audits.
• Ensure documents are collected, verified, and maintained before activation of vendors.
• Develop and maintain a vendor risk assessment framework across financial stability, compliance, and operational capability.
• Monitor compliance with vendor agreements and internal policies; document audit findings and track CAPAs.
• Plan and conduct periodic vendor audits and maintain a centralized compliance database.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Finance, Legal, Operations, and Supply Chain to align vendor decisions with risk appetite.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Associate – Vendor Compliance & Risk Management to support vendor due diligence process at PFC. The role will ensure vendors meet required statutory, financial, operational, and organizational standards while identifying potential risks and coordinating with internal teams and external agencies for timely resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive checks on vendors before onboarding, including:
• Business registration and statutory documents
• GST and PAN validation
• Company ownership and beneficial ownership
• Bank account and financial information
• Business address and operational existence
• Relevant licenses and certifications
• Coordinate with external background verification and due diligence agencies where required.
• Conduct background checks and assess the credibility and track record of prospective vendors.
• Ensure all mandatory documents are collected, verified, approved, and maintained before vendor activation.
• Develop a systematic vendor risk assessment framework based on factors such as financial stability, compliance history, operational capability, documentation, reputation, and business criticality.
• Monitor compliance with vendor agreements, terms and conditions, contractual requirements, and organizational policies.
• Develop and maintain vendor compliance policies and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain a centralized and up-to-date vendor compliance database.
• Plan and conduct periodic vendor audits and compliance reviews.
• Document audit findings and track corrective and preventive actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in vendor management, procurement, compliance, risk management, supply chain, audit, or related functions.
• Experience in vendor onboarding and due diligence.
• Experience in conducting or coordinating vendor audits and background verification.
• Understanding of GST, statutory documentation, business registrations, and basic financial due diligence.
• Strong analytical and documentation skills.
• Experience working with multiple internal stakeholders and external vendors.
• Willingness to travel for vendor/site verification when required.
