Job summary

The Founders Finance is a Bangalore-based finance partner for founder-led businesses, offering Virtual CFO, accounting, taxation and advisory services. You will own the books for multiple clients, drive month-end closings, and build MIS dashboards to provide founders with clear performance insights.

You will also support FP&A activities, assist with GST and TDS compliance, and lead cross-client reconciliations, audits, and investor reporting, collaborating directly with founders.

Qualifications

The Founders Finance is a Bangalore-based finance partner for founder-led businesses that have outgrown spreadsheets. The team runs Virtual CFO, Accounting and Taxation, Fundraising, Company Secretarial and Advisory functions for companies across consumer and D2C, food and beverage, fashion, SaaS and financial services, working to a disciplined monthly rhythm rather than year-end scrambles. Clients get their books closed early in the month, a clear read on their cash runway, and a compliance calendar where nothing slips through. The team is built entirely from finance professionals who have worked inside operating businesses, so the problems they solve are ones they've faced firsthand — from unreconciled accounts to inventory leakage to blocked GST credits. The team is made up of chartered accountants and finance professionals who've sat inside founder-led companies before, not just advised them from the outside. That mix means every engagement is led by people who've closed books under pressure, built models for a live fundraise, or managed compliance without a safety net — and who bring that judgment to each client relationship. It's a small, senior-heavy team by design, so founders work directly with people who understand both the numbers and the business behind them.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Own the books for multiple clients and drive timely, accurate month-end closing
• Build and review MIS reports, P&Ls and dashboards that give founders a clear view of performance
• Support FP&A, including budgets, forecasts, variance analysis and tracking of margins, burn and cash flows
• Lead data reconciliations across marketplaces, banks, debtors and creditors, and resolve mismatches
• Manage GST and TDS workings, filings and tax compliance, and keep the compliance calendar on track
• Use Tally (ERP 9 / Prime) as the core accounting tool
• Review work from junior associates and help maintain quality across engagements
• Support audits, investor reporting and data-room preparation
• Work directly with founders and business teams, explaining the numbers and flagging risks early

Requirements

• 2 to 3 years of experience in accounting and finance
• Working knowledge of GST, TDS and tax compliance
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
• Clear communication and comfort working to deadlines across multiple clients

Good to Have

• Accounting software experience, such as Tally (ERP 9 / Prime), Zoho or QuickBooks
• Experience in MIS, data reconciliation and FP&A
• Exposure to different industries
• Experience working in startups
