Collins Aerospace Bengaluru site is seeking an Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer to lead line setup for New Product Introduction and ramping activities. You will apply Lean Six Sigma practices to optimize workflows, study designs, and select tooling for efficient production.
The role requires 3–6 years in manufacturing engineering and hands-on experience with Industry 4.0, DFMEA/PFMEA, and APQP, with SAP knowledge preferred.

This Role is responsible for Line set-up for all New Product Introduction.
Responsibilities also includes Advance Manufacturing Technologies, Automation and Digitalization initiatives,
Conduct time and motion studies, measuring work patterns and methods of employees with the goal of developing and implementing practices and programs that ensure the most efficient use of production staff.
Effective use of Lean and Six Sigma principles to improve operational efficiency, reduce cycle time and eliminate waste across various process within organization.
Conduct thorough review of Product design, Engineering drawings and specifications to develop efficient manufacturing sequence and identify Tooling, equipment and resources requirements.
Design and optimize facility layouts, including the arrangement of machinery, equipment and workstations to maximize space utilization, minimize material handling and enhance workflow efficiency.
Knowledge in Product costing through Build hours estimation for New product Introduction/Work transfers
Oversee the NPI’s, transitions & Advanced Manufacturing technologies responsible for delivery of the program from design conceptualization to initial ramp up in production end to end.
Set up/ Create Future factories with Best-in-class layouts, lean cells and smart workstations leveraging advanced manufacturing technologies, methods & time study (MTM/MOST) techniques and lean transformation.
Plans the sequence of operations and procedures and documents manufacturing standard work.
Responsible for creating high-speed production ramp up to support NPI’s/transitions, design/redesign Cells & Workstations for changing volumes in line with flexible manufacturing strategy.
Identifies and develops necessary resources to ensure project completion including setting up the production line, setting up the machine/equipment and tools required and ensure all activities are carried out in a timely manner
Identifies project problems and recommends solutions, understanding customer requirements and specifications and ensures smooth flow of production build
Identifies new processes, technology and equipment required for New product Introduction/Work transfers
Develops and implements manufacturing facility design of plant layout, material handling systems, material staging and warehousing as desired.
Develops production shop floor layout to have improved Linkage and Flow and floor space optimization.
Develop and implement process improvement strategies to optimize production flow and minimize waste.
Supports strategic implementation of product introductions to deploy World class facility.
Hands on experience in manufacturing line design, new tooling development and deployment of specialized tooling and fixtures.
Expertized in capacity assessments for Equipment, Tooling, people and space for Initial production to Full rate Production.
Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, productivity improvement, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
Exposure for New Manufacturing Technologies, Industry 4.0 implementation, Bidding to Full Rate Production process.
BE in Electronics with 3-6 years. Experience in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering. Hands on experience in deploying Industry 4.0 methodologies. Advanced knowledge on DFMEA, PFMEA, control plan and APQP Basic knowledge in using ERP systems (preferred SAP)
Experience in New Line set-up, SAP, MOST/MTM certification.
