Job summary

RX Sterile Medpack in Calicut/Kozhikode, Kerala, is seeking an Accountant / Senior Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting, GST and TDS, and manufacturing accounts up to finalisation.

The role requires 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, strong knowledge of GST and TDS, and proficiency in MS Excel and Tally Prime. The position is full-time and office-based.

You will prepare ledgers, reconcile accounts, and coordinate with auditors to ensure timely year-end finalisation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant practical accounting experience

• Commerce / Accounting educational background preferred

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day accounting and maintain complete books of accounts
• Independently manage accounts up to finalisation
• Prepare and review Trial Balance, Profit & Loss Account and Balance Sheet
• Perform ledger scrutiny and identify/correct accounting discrepancies
• Handle bank, customer, supplier and other account reconciliations
• Pass year-end adjustment entries, provisions and depreciation entries
• Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Maintain proper vouchers, records and supporting documents
• Prepare ledgers, reconciliations, schedules and supporting documents required for audit
• Assist with statutory / tax audit preparation

Accountant / Senior Accountant - Finalisation, GST & Manufacturing Accounts

Location: Calicut / Kozhikode, Kerala

Job Type: Full-time - Work from Office

Experience: 3+ years of relevant accounting experience preferred

Salary: 18,000-22,000 per month, negotiable for the right candidate based on experience and capability

About the Company

We are a growing company based in Calicut engaged in the medical sterilisation packaging industry.

We are looking for an experienced and dependable Accountant / Senior Accountant who can independently handle day-to-day accounting, GST and TDS-related work, manufacturing accounts, audit preparation and accounts up to finalisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day accounting and maintain complete books of accounts
• Independently manage accounts up to finalisation
• Prepare and review Trial Balance, Profit & Loss Account and Balance Sheet
• Perform ledger scrutiny and identify/correct accounting discrepancies
• Handle bank, customer, supplier and other account reconciliations
• Pass year-end adjustment entries, provisions and depreciation entries
• Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Maintain proper vouchers, records and supporting documents

GST & TDS

• Prepare and reconcile data for GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B
• Perform GSTR-2B / Input Tax Credit reconciliation
• Follow up on missing or mismatched supplier invoices
• Ensure correct GST treatment of purchase and sales transactions
• Working knowledge of HSN codes and GST rates
• Handle E-Way Bills
• Handle GST-related credit notes, debit notes, purchase returns and sales returns
• Basic knowledge of Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM)
• Knowledge of E-Invoicing / IRN generation will be an advantage
• Identify transactions where TDS is applicable
• Maintain TDS accounting and reconciliations
• Assist with TDS payments and preparation of data for TDS returns
• Coordinate with CA / tax consultant for GST, TDS and other statutory matters

Manufacturing & Inventory Accounting

• Maintain accounting records relating to raw materials, work in progress, finished goods and consumables
• Assist with stock and inventory reconciliation
• Maintain proper accounting for movement of materials
• Familiarity with job-work transactions and delivery challans will be an advantage

Audit & Finalisation

• Prepare ledgers, reconciliations, schedules and supporting documents required for audit
• Assist with statutory / tax audit preparation
• Coordinate with Chartered Accountants / auditors
• Ensure books and supporting records are properly maintained for year-end finalisation

Required Skills

• Strong practical knowledge of Final Accounts
• Good knowledge of GST, Input Tax Credit reconciliation and TDS
• Experience in ledger scrutiny and account reconciliation
• Good working knowledge of Tally Prime
• Good working knowledge of MS Excel
• Ability to independently handle accounting responsibilities
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Candidate Profile

• 3+ years of relevant practical accounting experience
• Experience in manufacturing accounts preferred
• Experience independently handling accounts up to finalisation highly desirable
• Commerce / Accounting educational background preferred
• Female candidates preferred
• Candidates residing in Calicut / Kozhikode or nearby areas and able to commute to the office daily preferred

Salary

18,000-22,000 per month

Salary is negotiable for the right candidate based on relevant experience, practical accounting knowledge and ability to independently handle the role.
