Job summary

Neev Seeds Pvt. Ltd. in Sri Ganganagar invites experienced professionals to join our seed production team. You will select and contract growers, verify land and isolation distances, and ensure traceability of lots from field to plant.

As part of field operations, you will supervise harvest, roguing, and inspections with the Rajasthan Seed Certification Agency, maintaining field reports and paperwork. A two-wheeler and driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• B.Sc Agriculture or Diploma in Agriculture with hands-on seed production experience.
• 3 to 6 years in seed production, contract farming or grower relations.
• Working knowledge of Indian Minimum Seed Certification Standards: isolation distance, field standards, seed standards.
• Hindi. Local Rajasthani is a genuine advantage with growers.
• Own two-wheeler and a valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Estimate plot yield ahead of harvest and forecast arrival for processing and packing.
• Supervise harvest, threshing and moisture; reject unsuitable lots before entry to plant.
• Handle grower payment paperwork and communicate settlements transparently.

Job description

Neev's seed is grown on contract by farmers in the Sri Ganganagar and Hanumangarh belt. You decide which grower gets which class of seed, whether the isolation distance on that plot is genuinely adequate, and whether the lot passes or fails. Everything the company sells eighteen months from now...

What you will do

• Select and contract growers for the crops assigned to you. Verify land, irrigation source, previous crop history and isolation distance before you allot a single bag.
• Issue foundation and certified class seed against signed agreements, and keep lot-wise records of what went to which grower and which survey number. If the paperwork is loose, the lot is not traceable and the lot is not saleable.
• Run roguing rounds at the correct crop stages. Off-type removal in wheat, mustard, gram, guar and berseem is decided by the crop calendar, not by whichever plot is convenient that week.
• Accompany Rajasthan State Seed and Organic Certification Agency inspectors on field inspections, and keep field inspection reports, tags and certification paperwork complete and current.
• Estimate yield plot by plot ahead of harvest and give the Hisar plant a realistic arrival forecast, so processing and packing can be scheduled instead of improvised.
• Supervise harvest, threshing and moisture at receipt. Segregate or reject lots that will not make standard before they enter the plant, not after.
• Handle grower payment paperwork and settle deductions transparently. Next season's acreage depends entirely on how this season's settlement was handled.

What you must have

• B.Sc Agriculture, or Diploma in Agriculture with at least 5 years of hands-on seed production.
• 3 to 6 years in seed production, contract farming or grower relations.
• Working knowledge of the Indian Minimum Seed Certification Standards for your crops: isolation distance, field standards, seed standards.
• Hindi. Local Rajasthani is a genuine advantage with growers.
• Own two-wheeler and a valid driving licence.

Nice to have

• Mustard, gram, guar or berseem seed production experience.
• Experience handling grow-out test (GOT) plots.
• Basic Excel for grower and lot registers.
