Job summary

Layam in Bhilwara, Rajasthan seeks an experienced Production Lead to ensure smooth functioning of the production section and achieve budgeted targets. The role focuses on meeting KPIs for production, yield, quality, safety and productivity.

The incumbent will monitor process yield, glass yield and power consumption; drive Zero Defect initiatives and conduct audits (5S, safety) while ensuring compliance with TPM, TQM, ISO/TS standards and continuous improvement activities across departments.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for smooth functioning of the production section and achieving budgeted targets.
• Ensure achievement of production, yield, quality, safety and productivity KPIs.
• Monitor and improve process yield, glass yield and power consumption.
• Control rejection, rework and next-process claims; drive Zero Defect initiatives.
• Conduct Layered Process Audits, safety audits, 5S audits and process-wise audits.
• Drive TPM, TQM, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and OHSAS system requirements.
• Lead PDCA, Kaizen and productivity improvement initiatives.
• Monitor machine uptime, manpower productivity and process performance.
• Drive new model development, feasibility studies, quality maturation and localization trials.
• Ensure timely closure of quality and safety audit findings.
• Monitor consumable consumption and implement cost-reduction initiatives.
• Manage manpower allocation, skill development, training and performance appraisal.
• Coordinate with QA, Maintenance, NMD, Projects, HR, Materials and suppliers.
• Conduct regular shop-floor, operator, improvement and section meetings.
• Promote operator participation in Kaizen and QC Circle activities.
