Job summary

DALMIA BHARAT Ltd is seeking a hands-on Senior Mechanical Maintenance Lead for the kiln section. You will oversee maintenance of kiln, cooler, preheater and related equipment, plan preventive and breakdown works, and ensure safe, reliable operation with minimal downtime.

You will supervise a team of engineers and technicians, manage shutdowns, ensure safety compliance (LOTO, confined space, hot work), coordinate with production, report stoppages, and handle spare parts planning and maintenance

Qualifications

• Experience leading mechanical maintenance in kiln facilities.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and industrial compliance.
• Ability to plan preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance.

Job description

• To lead and manage all mechanical maintenance activities related to the kiln section, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of kiln, cooler, and associated equipment while minimizing downtime and maintenance costs.
• Maintenance Management: Plan, supervise, and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of kiln, cooler, preheater, and auxiliary equipment.

Ensure optimal mechanical condition of critical equipment such as kiln shells, girth gears, rollers, bearings, hydraulic systems, fans, and conveyors.

Monitor equipment performance and recommend corrective actions and upgrades.

Coordinate kiln shutdowns, overhauls, and major repairs.

• Troubleshooting & Reliability:Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and recommend remedies, driving improvements in Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).
• Shutdown Management:Plan and manage major and minor shutdowns (e.g., annual kiln inspection, refractory repair), including job list preparation, spare parts availability, and manpower coordination.
• Team Leadership:Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of mechanical engineers and technicians, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and safety.
• Safety & Compliance:Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols (LOTO - Lockout/Tagout, confined space, hot work, working at height), health procedures, and environmental standards to ensure a safe working environment.
• Coordination& Reporting:Coordinate daily activities with the production/process team and other cross-functional teams to align maintenance schedules with production targets. Prepare and submit accurate reports (daily logs, stoppage analysis, MIS).
• Inventory & Budget:Coordinate planning for spare parts and potentially manage the maintenance budget for the section.
