Job summary

The Hiring Club in Kolkata is seeking a seasoned Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance department across industrial facilities. You will oversee budgeting, scheduling, training, and vendor relations to ensure safe, efficient plant operations.

The ideal candidate has a B.E. in Electrical Engineering and at least 20 years of relevant experience, with preference for Foundry and Steel Arch Furnace exposure, and a proven ability to drive compliance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 20 years of industrial experience.
  • Experience in foundry and steel arch furnaces preferred.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations for plant operations.
  • Sound understanding of vendors supplying materials for plant maintenance.
  • Strong leadership and people management abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee all maintenance department activities including budgeting, scheduling, training and development.
  • Ensure that maintenance activities are safe, efficient, and effective.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate the work of subordinates, ensuring that all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of subordinates, taking corrective action as necessary.
  • Investigate complaints and incidents, taking appropriate action to resolve issues.
  • Prepare and submit reports to upper management as required.
  • Stay abreast of new developments in the field of maintenance and make recommendations for improvements to management.
  • Manage the departmental budget, ensuring that all expenditures are within allocated limits.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers.
