Job summary

Hero MotoCorp Jaipur seeks a Section Head - Design Robustness to lead reliability governance across Body/Structural, EE, Engine/Powertrain, Plastic/Optical and Vehicle Integration. You will own DFMEA, Design Review and DVP derivation, build a team of reliability engineers, and align design quality with market warranty performance.

You will drive the CAE‑Weibull cycle‑time roadmap, partner with Market Quality and Warranty teams, and represent the department in senior program reviews.

Qualifications

• BE / B Tech qualification is mandatory.
• Experience in Design Review, DFMEA and DVP derivation is preferred.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are required.

Responsibilities

Section Head - Design Robustness

A purpose driven role for you

Lead and govern the Design Review, DFMEA and DVP‑derivation process across all technical domains — Body/Structural, EE, Engine/Powertrain, Plastic/Optical and Vehicle Integration — building and managing a team of individual‑contributor reliability engineers. Own the department’s reliability strategy, standards and governance framework to drive First Time Right design quality, and close the loop between Market Quality/Warranty performance and forward design and validation practice across all two‑wheeler programs.

A Day in the life

The role carries end‑to‑end accountability for the Reliability & Robustness departments output — technical rigor across the five domains, and the people, process and stakeholder management needed to deliver it consistently across concurrent programs. It combines hands‑on technical governance with team leadership and senior‑level program representation. Core activities include:

• Own department‑level governance of the Design Review, DFMEA and DVP‑derivation process across all five technical domains, ensuring consistent methodology and gate discipline.
• Build, lead and develop a team of domain reliability engineers (Body/Structural, EE, Engine/Powertrain, Plastic/Optical, Vehicle Integration).
• Represent the department in senior program reviews, presenting design‑quality and reliability risk status to leadership.
• Own the department’s reliability standards, guideline library and training curriculum, and drive their horizontal deployment across programs.
• Partner with Market Quality and Warranty teams to close the loop between field performance and forward design/test practice.
• Drive the CAE‑Weibull‑based cycle‑time compression roadmap across programs, balancing speed‑to‑market with design robustness.
