Job summary

Hero MotoCorp, headquartered in New Delhi, India, is seeking a Quality Engineer to ensure defect-free production in Engine Assembly, by evaluating product and process quality and improving processes to meet global standards.

You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive quality improvements, lead initiatives, and ensure timely reviews of KPIs, with a focus on building a lean, high-quality manufacturing system for new models.

Qualifications

• Graduation in Engineering.
• Minimum 3-6 years of experience.
• Good knowledge of quality core tools PFMEA, SPC and PPAP.

Responsibilities

• Ensure defect-free processes/production in Engine Assembly.
• Evaluate product and process quality and adherence to QA system.
• Identify/execute improvement projects and review KPIs.
• Plan and lead quality improvement activities impacting build quality.
• Audit CTQ stages and evaluate machine capability.
• Support flexible production for defect-free launch of new models.

Role

Ensure defect free processes/production in the Engine Assembly through evaluation & improvement of product & process quality and adherence to Quality Assurance System, to achieve zero customer complaints

A purpose driven role for you

• Ensure manufacturing of high quality products to ensure compliance with global standards
• Analysis of internal failures (rework, rejection, MI/FI defects) and external failures (market issues, warranty)
• Identify/execute improvement projects
• Periodic review of projects & KPIs.
• Plan and Lead Quality improvement activities and Initiatives impacting ‘Build Up Quality’.
• Identify and audit Critical to Quality Stages.
• Evaluate Process and Machine Capability
• Implementation of QM Matrix of CTQ Machine.
• Effective Functioning of CTQ Machines.
• Analyse deviations, identify/execute improvement projects & periodic reviews
• Support in building a flexible production system designed to ensure smooth mass production, pre-empt losses, and defect free launch/ramp-up of new models.

A Day in the life

• Finished product quality dependent on multiple stakeholders
• Job profile is limited to analysis, execution lies with other departments.
• Collaborate with internal & external stakeholders for: Product/Process Improvements, Gauge Design, Equipment maintenance, Ordering of Capital Equipment, Manpower Recruitment, Training, Improve Quality of Bought out Parts, Resolution of market issues, Improvement in design, Procurement of gauges, TPM, Leadership Reviews, Policy Deployment, Best Practices Deployment, IMS & NABL audits, Gauges calibration

Academic Qualification & Experience

• Graduation in Engineering
• Minimum 3-6 years of experience
