Job summary

ConveGenius is seeking an experienced backend engineer to architect and implement REST APIs, design high-availability services, and optimize performance at scale. You will mentor developers, work with front-end teams, and contribute to GenAI-powered tooling, data handling with MySQL/MongoDB, and cloud deployments using AWS and Docker.

4+ years of experience and a CS degree are required, with strong Node.js, Express/Restify, and SOLID principles guiding your work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
• Minimum of four years of professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring developers, including work allocation, delivery ownership, and performance feedback.
• Expertise in JavaScript (ES6) and Node JS is a must.
• Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
• In-depth knowledge of frameworks like Express JS and Restify.
• Experience in building backend services for handling data at a large scale is a must.
• Ability to architect high-availability applications and servers in the cloud, adhering to best practices; microservices architecture is preferable.
• Experience working with MySQL and NoSQL databases like DynamoDB and MongoDB.
• Experience writing complex SQL queries.
• In-depth knowledge of Node JS concepts like the event loop.
• Ability to perform technical deep dives into code.
• Experience building and deploying GenAI-powered backend services or tools such as prompt routers, embedding search, and RAG pipelines.
• Understanding of communication using WebSockets.
• Good understanding of clean architecture and SOLID principles.
• Basic knowledge of AWS and Docker containerization is preferable.
• Experience in Python is a plus.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or Claude to accelerate development, assist in code reviews, and support efficient coding practices is a plus.
• Familiarity with Git.
