Job summary

ConveGenius Group is seeking a senior backend engineering lead to design and implement low-latency, high-availability systems. You will steer GenAI-powered capabilities integration, mentor a team of backend developers, and drive scalable architecture across cloud environments.

You will collaborate with frontend teams, ensure robust testing, and guide delivery of high-quality solutions at scale, while exploring cutting-edge GenAI tooling and frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum of four years of professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring developers, including work allocation and delivery ownership.
• Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
• In-depth knowledge of Express JS and Restify.
• Experience building backend services for handling data at large scale.
• Ability to architect high-availability applications and servers on cloud; microservices architecture is preferable.
• Experience with MySQL and NoSQL databases like DynamoDB and MongoDB.
• Experience with GenAI agent frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI is a strong plus.
• In-depth knowledge of Node JS concepts like the event loop.
• Ability to perform technical deep-dives into code.
• Experience building and deploying GenAI-powered backend services or tools.
• Understanding of WebSockets.

Responsibilities

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications.
• Lead integration of GenAI-powered capabilities into backend systems, including prompt-based APIs and tool-using agents.
• Test software to ensure responsiveness, correctness and efficiency.
• Collaborate with front-end developers on the integration of elements.
• Take initiatives to build better and faster solutions to the problems of scale.
• Troubleshoot application-related issues and work with the infrastructure team to triage Major Incidents.
• Experience in analyzing/researching solutions and developing/implementing recommendations accordingly.

Team Management:

• Lead and manage a team of backend developers, setting clear goals, delegating responsibilities, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
• Mentor team members through regular one-on-ones, technical guidance, performance feedback, and development planning.
• Plan team capacity and priorities, track delivery commitments, and resolve technical and execution blockers.
• Support hiring and onboarding of backend developers and establish consistent code-review, testing, and engineering practices across the team.
• Work with the AVP Technology to align team priorities with the technology roadmap and communicate delivery progress, risks, and resource requirements.

• In-depth knowledge of Node JS concepts like the event loop
• Ability to perform technical deep-dives into code
• Experience building and deploying GenAI-powered backend services or tools such as prompt routers,
• embedding search, and RAG pipelines
• Understanding of communication using WebSockets
• Good understanding of clean architecture and SOLID principles
• Basic knowledge of AWS and Docker containerization is preferable
• Experience in Python is a plus
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or Claude to accelerate development,
• assist in code reviews, and support efficient coding practices is a plus
