Job Description

Purpose of the role: Facilitate and support Agile teams by ensuring they follow Scrum principles. Remove obstacles, enhance team collaboration, and enable smooth communication, allowing the team to focus on delivering high‑quality, iterative results. Facilitate Scrum events, promote continuous improvement, and act as a bridge between the team and external stakeholders.

Accountabilities

1. Facilitate Events: Conduct all Scrum events, ensuring they are productive, positive, and remain within the timebox.
2. Support Iteration Execution: Ensure quality of ceremony artefacts, maintain backlog refinement, iterate on stakeholder feedback, and deliver continuous customer value.
3. Optimize Flow: Identify and remove conflicts that impact team flow, use metrics to empower communication, and make all work visible.
4. Mitigate Risks: Identify, elevate risks, remove impediments, and shield the squad from interruptions.
5. Build High‑Performing Teams: Foster and coach Agile attributes, encourage stakeholder collaboration, deputise for on‑the‑moment leadership, and drive high‑performance team behaviours.
6. Stakeholder Management: Facilitate collaboration with business stakeholders, product teams, and vendors, and build trust.
7. Governance and Reporting: Ensure data quality and represent the team at required governance forums, if applicable.

Lead a team performing complex tasks using professional knowledge and skills. Set objectives, coach employees, appraise performance, and determine rewards. Demonstrate clear leadership behaviours: Listen, Energise, Align, and Develop.

Experience & Qualifications

To be successful as a Scrum Master you should have experience with:

• Agile Methodology: Knowledge of Agile frameworks, iterative development, and an Agile mindset.
• Tools and Technology Proficiency: Experience with Confluence and JIRA; ability to configure and leverage these tools.
• Communications and Collaboration: Exceptional communication skills and experience building strong collaboration between cross‑functional teams.
• Continuous Improvement: Facilitating retrospectives, driving process improvements, and fostering a culture of learning and maturity.
• Facilitation and Coaching: Strong facilitation skills to run effective ceremonies and coach teams toward greater efficiency.
• Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution: Mediation skills, proactive problem identification, and collaborative solutions.
• Stakeholder Management: Managing expectations, prioritising work, and facilitating effective communication.
• Adaptability and Flexibility: Adapting to shifting priorities, changing requirements, and varying team dynamics.
• Time Management & Prioritisation: Organising and prioritising backlog items to keep the team focused on high‑priority work.
• Metrics and Reporting: Proficiency in data analysis, reporting tools, and metrics such as velocity.

Highly valued skills include SAFe Agile certification, BFSI experience, and experience with data product feature teams.
