Job summary

Linxon, a Linxon business combining AtkinsRéalis project management and Hitachi Energy expertise, invites applications for a SCM Engineer in Chennai, India. You will verify and analyze Linxon’s global prequalified vendor base, manage onboarding in SAP Ariba, and help maintain an up-to-date vendor list after prequalification.

With 5–10+ years in IT procurement and vendor management, you will liaise with suppliers, perform risk assessments, and support RFQ activities to ensure timely PO placement.

Qualifications

• Minimum Engineering Graduate with 5–10+ years in IT procurement, supply chain, onboarding and procurement.
• Experience with IT hardware, software licensing models, SaaS, and IT services.
• Exposure to ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• Procurement of IT items, applications, cloud services and software licenses.
• Good knowledge of SAP Ariba system.
• Strong vendor management skills and negotiation.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Vendor onboarding in SAP Ariba portal and supplier requests.
• Verification of prequalification documents from suppliers during onboarding.
• Analyze and perform vendor risk assessment in SAP Ariba.
• Update and maintain complete vendor list and ensure onboarding before placing PO.
• Perform periodic checks on mandatory documents uploaded by suppliers.
• Launch RFQ and receive offers from vendors in SAP Ariba Portal.

Job Title: SCM Engineer

This role sits within our Supply Chain Management team. The purpose of the role is to provide a continuous verification and analysis of the complete Linxon prequalified vendors globally, identifying potential risks and keeping Linxon vendor list updated after the prequalification process has been successfully completed.

What will you do?

• Vendor Onboarding process in SAP Ariba Portal by initiating supplier request.
• Verification of prequalification documents provided by the suppliers during onboarding process.
• Analyze and perform Vendor Risk assessment check in SAP Ariba.
• Updating and Maintaining Complete Vendor List and to ensure completion of Vendor onboarding process before placing PO.
• Perform Periodic Check on mandatory documents uploaded by Supplier during onboarding process.
• Launching RFQ and receiving offer from Vendor before deadline in SAP Ariba Portal.

Experience and Education Required:

• Minimum Engineering Graduate in engineering or equivalent qualification and applicable experience of 5 to 10 + years of experience in IT procurement, supply chain, Vendor onboarding and procurement.
• Experience with IT hardware, software licensing models, SaaS, and IT services
• Exposure to ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
• Procurement of IT related items, Applications, cloud services, software licenses and IT software experience are required.
• Good knowledge of SAP Ariba system.
• Good knowledge in electrical Equipment's.
• Strong understanding of IT products, services, and licensing models
• Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills
• Fluent in English
