Job summary

Weekday AI (YC W21) seeks an experienced SAP MDG Functional Consultant to drive master data governance across enterprise SAP environments. You will design and configure MDG processes, collaborate with stakeholders, and lead data quality initiatives to ensure governance and standardization of key data objects.

The role requires 6+ years in SAP functional consulting with MDG expertise and strong communication with business and technical teams in a global delivery setup.

We are looking for an experiencedSAP MDG Functional Consultantto support master data governance, process design, implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives across enterprise SAP environments. The ideal candidate will have strong functional expertise inSAP Master Data Governance (MDG)and the ability to translate business requirements into scalable, governed, and efficient master data solutions.

This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, functional teams, technical teams, and SAP implementation partners to improve master data quality, standardize processes, and ensure effective governance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead functional requirements gathering and analysis forSAP MDGinitiatives.
• Understand business processes and translate requirements into effective master data governance solutions.
• Design and document MDG processes, workflows, governance models, and approval mechanisms.
• Configure and support SAP MDG functionality based on business and process requirements.
• Work with business stakeholders to define data standards, validation rules, approval processes, and governance policies.
• Support master data domains such asBusiness Partner, Customer, Vendor, Material, and other enterprise data objectsas applicable.
• Prepare functional specifications for required enhancements, integrations, and custom developments.
• Collaborate with SAP technical teams on workflows, BRF+, integrations, data models, interfaces, and custom solutions.
• Support data migration, data cleansing, validation, and master data quality initiatives.
• Develop and execute functional test scenarios, integration testing, regression testing, and UAT support.
• Analyze and resolve functional issues during implementation and post-production support.
• Work with SAP implementation partners and external vendors to ensure successful delivery.
• Prepare functional documentation, process flows, configuration documents, and user guides.
• Support deployment, cutover, hypercare, and ongoing optimization activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve master data processes, governance, automation, and operational efficiency.
• Ensure MDG solutions align with business controls, compliance requirements, and enterprise data governance standards.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• 6+ years of experiencein SAP functional consulting, with strong hands-on experience inSAP MDG.
• Proven experience in SAP MDG implementation, rollout, enhancement, or support projects.
• Strong understanding ofmaster data governance, data quality, workflow, validation, and approval processes.
• Experience working with relevant SAP master data domains such as Business Partner, Customer, Vendor, or Material.
• Strong ability to gather requirements and translate business processes into functional SAP solutions.
• Experience preparing functional specifications and working closely with technical development teams.
• Good understanding of SAP integration concepts and interfaces involving MDG.
• Experience with testing, UAT, defect management, data migration, and production support.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively with business users, functional teams, technical teams, and senior stakeholders.
• Experience working withSAP implementation partners or global delivery teamsis an advantage.
• Strong documentation and process-mapping skills.
