Job summary

Programming.com is seeking an experienced SAP HR ABAP Developer to build, enhance, and support SAP HCM solutions across Payroll, PA, OM, and TM. You will perform hands-on ABAP development, HR/payroll technical solutions, integrations, performance optimization, testing, deployment, and production support.

You will work on ABAP development, data conversion, forms, and OData/REST integrations, translating business requirements into technical solutions and delivering end-to-end technical work.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of hands-on SAP ABAP experience.
• Strong experience in SAP HR / HCM.
• Working knowledge of Payroll (PY), PA, OM & TM.
• Proficient in Classical & ALV Reports, BDC/LSMW.
• Experience with BAdIs, User Exits & Enhancement Framework.
• Familiarity with SAPscript, Smart Forms & Adobe Forms.
• Knowledge of BAPI, RFC, ALE & IDocs.
• Experience with OData / REST APIs.
• Data conversion and migration experience.
• Understanding of HR & Payroll business processes.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for an experienced SAP HR ABAP Developer to build, enhance, and support SAP HCM solutions across Payroll (PY), Personnel Administration (PA), Organizational Management (OM), and Time Management (TM).

The role involves hands-on ABAP development, HR/payroll technical solutions, integrations, performance optimization, testing, deployment, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

SAP ABAP Development

• Develop and maintain Classical & ALV Reports, Custom Transactions, Module Pool Programs, and Background Jobs.
• Develop enhancements using BAdIs, User Exits, Customer Exits, and Enhancement Spots.
• Develop data conversion and migration programs using BDC, LSMW, and BAPIs.
• Develop forms using SAPscript, Smart Forms, and Adobe Forms.
• Develop and consume OData services and REST APIs.
• Analyze, implement, and regression-test relevant SAP OSS Notes.
• Optimize ABAP programs and follow SAP coding and security standards.

SAP HR / Payroll

• Work across PY, PA, OM, and TM modules.
• Develop HR-specific objects including Infotype Enhancements, Custom Infotypes, Dynamic Actions, Logical Databases, and HR Macros.
• Support payroll cycles, statutory reporting, and period-end activities from the technical side.
• Develop payroll, bank file, statutory, and third-party interfaces.

Integration & Interfaces

• Develop and support integrations using BAPI, RFC, ALE, and IDoc.
• Work on integrations between SAP HR and downstream systems such as FI, time-capture, benefits, and external/vendor platforms.
• Handle file-based and API-based integrations with reconciliation and exception handling.

Analysis & Delivery

• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and solutions.
• Prepare technical specifications, test data, and technical documentation.
• Perform unit and integration testing and support UAT.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes.
• Manage transports, deployment, version control, and documentation.
• Work with SAP ASAP / Activate methodologies.
