Job summary

EY Bengaluru is seeking a Senior HCM Payroll Specialist to lead payroll operations within SAP HCM, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of employee compensation. You will collaborate with HR, finance, and IT to optimize payroll systems and address complex payroll issues.

You will mentor junior payroll staff, drive process improvements, and contribute to successful SAP payroll implementations across multiple customers. Occasional travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of SAP HCM experience required.
• Experience with Wage type, Schema and PCR configuration.
• Strong knowledge of PA/PM and time integration with payroll.
• Experience with SAP HCM and SuccessFactors is a plus.
• Excellent business communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead SAP HCM Payroll implementation projects as technical lead.
• Manage business transformation / managed services track of SAP engagements.
• Conduct blueprint workshops to gather requirements and design to-be processes.
• Deliver configuration, functional specs, unit and integration test scripts.
• Coordinate with onsite coordinators and travel to customer locations as needed.
• Mentor and train junior payroll staff; monitor project deliverables and progress.

The Opportunity

As a Senior HCM Payroll Specialist, you will be at the forefront of managing and optimizing our payroll processes within the Human Capital Management (HCM) framework. This role offers you the chance to lead payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of employee compensation.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Need to work as a team leader (technical leader) to contribute in SAP HCM Payroll implementation project.


• Lead teams in the business transformation / managed services track of SAP engagements.


• Conduct Business Blueprint requirement gathering workshops to gather business requirements and finalize to-be design.


• Deliver Business Blueprint, configuration, functional specifications, unit test scripts, integration test scripts as per business requirements.


• Interface and communicate with the onsite coordinators.


• Planning and monitoring of the project deliverables from the team.


• Mentor the project team in executing the identified projects.


• Regular status reporting to the Manager and onsite coordinators.


• Interface with the customer representatives as and when needed.


• Willing to travel to the customers locations on need basis.


• Responsible for decision-making, optimizing processes, resource management, and overseeing team management as needed for task execution.


• Accountable for allocating personnel, supervising team members, assigning tasks, ensuring that the team has the necessary tools and support to succeed in their roles and optimizing and evaluating their performance to meet organizational goals.

Skills and attributes for success

• Good knowledge of PA/PM, time integration with payroll.


• Configure tax related requirements for any of the countries including US, UK, Canada, Australia, Dubai and NZ.


• Should have strong process experience in SAP HCM.


• SuccessFactors experience will be an added advantage.


• Should have understanding and experience of integration best practices.


• Excellent business communication skills.


• Excellent leadership skills.


• Over 3-8 years of SAP HCM experience including minimum 2 implementations in end-to-end payroll process.


• Must have worked on Wage type, Schema and PCR configuration.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech/MCA with a sound industry experience of 3-8 Years.
