Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Hyderabad is seeking an experienced SAP ABAP RAP developer to design and implement custom ABAP (RAP) solutions within SAP S/4HANA. The role emphasizes CDS Views, AMDP logic, and OData service exposure.

You will work with functional and Fiori/UI5 teams to deliver end-to-end solutions, perform tests, optimize performance, and prepare technical documentation for SIT/UAT and go-live activities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement custom ABAP (RAP) solutions in SAP S/4HANA.
• Build and optimize CDS Views, AMDP logic, and HANA-optimized custom code.
• Develop and expose RAP-based business objects and OData services.
• Develop and maintain RICEF objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms).
• Ensure adherence to SAP development standards, security, governance, and clean-core guidelines.
• Collaborate with functional and Fiori/UI5 teams to deliver integrated end-to-end solutions.
• Perform unit testing, code reviews, performance optimization, and production issue resolution.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, specifications, and knowledge transfer materials.
• Support SIT, UAT, go-live, and post-go-live activities.

510 years of strong hands-on experience in SAP ABAP RAP.

• Strong ability to translate functional requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong expertise in: ABAP OO, Classical ABAP, RICEF objects
• S/4HANA development – CDS Views, AMDP, Open SQL optimization, code pushdown
• RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model) – CDS-based modeling, BDEF, behavior implementations, service bindings
• OData Services (SEGW, RAP-based exposure) and API integrations
• Solid understanding of SAP Clean Core principles and development of cleancore-compliant custom objects.
• Knowledge of EML (Entity Manipulation Language)
• Experience with: Enhancements – BAdIs, User Exits, Enhancement Framework, custom field & custom logic app.
• BAPIs, RFCs, Web Services, APIs
