Job summary

Softview Infotech is seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Consultant (RAP) in Chennai to design, develop and implement enterprise SAP solutions. The ideal candidate will have 4–8 years of hands-on ABAP development, with strong RAP, CDS Views, OData, ABAP on HANA and Fiori expertise, capable of delivering in SAP S/4HANA environments.

You will independently handle technical development, collaborate with functional teams (MM, SD, FI, PP, QM) and contribute across implementation, upgrade, and support

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience in SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA.
• Strong expertise in CDS Views, OData, ABAP on HANA and SAP Fiori.
• Experience with RAP development and ABAP development in HANA environment.
• Design, development, testing and delivery of enterprise SAP applications using both classic ABAP and RAP.
• Ability to work independently and with functional teams in multinational projects.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Consultant (4–8 years) with strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA, RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model), OData, CDS Views, ABAP on HANA, and SAP Fiori. The ideal candidate should have hands‑on experience in designing, developing, and delivering enterprise‑grade SAP applications using both classical ABAP and modern SAP development frameworks.

The candidate should be capable of independently handling technical development, collaborating with functional teams, and delivering high‑quality SAP solutions across implementation, enhancement, rollout, upgrade, and support projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy custom SAP developments using Classical ABAP and ABAP on HANA.
• Develop applications using RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP) including Managed and Unmanaged scenarios.
• Develop and expose business services using OData V2/V4, Service Definitions, Service Bindings, and EML.
• Design and develop Core Data Services (CDS Views) including associations, compositions, annotations, analytical CDS, and VDM architecture.
• Implement RAP business logic using Behavior Definitions, Behavior Implementations, Determinations, Validations, Actions, Feature Control, and Authorizations.
• Develop and enhance SAP Fiori Elements applications integrated with RAP services.
• Develop and optimize AMDP procedures and HANA‑optimized ABAP applications.
• Develop interfaces using RFC, BAPI, IDoc, ALE, REST APIs, SOAP Web Services, and SAP Integration technologies.
• Analyze business requirements and collaborate with functional consultants (MM, SD, FI, PP, QM, etc.) to deliver scalable technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide timely resolutions.
• Perform code reviews, performance optimization, and ensure adherence to SAP development standards and Clean Core principles.
• Prepare Technical Specifications, Unit Test Scripts, and Technical Documentation.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

• Experience in Greenfield, Brownfield, Rollout, Upgrade, Enhancement, and AMS projects.
• Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent debugging, analytical, and performance optimization skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• SAP Certification in ABAP for SAP HANA, SAP RAP, SAP Fiori, or SAP BTP is preferred.
