Job summary

Globant is seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Developer to design, implement, and optimize complex SAP solutions in the RTR Financial area on S/4 HANA. You will translate functional specs into robust technical designs, estimate effort, and ensure high quality documentation. Emphasis on Clean Core, OData services, and Fiori-based UI.

The role requires deep ABAP expertise, strong debugging skills, and a track record of delivering scalable SAP FI processes and integrations within large enterprises.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on SAP ABAP development for S/4 HANA.
• Deep knowledge of SAP Clean Core and ABAP Cloud model.
• Experience with FI design, GL journals, AP/AR, and Revenue Recognition.
• Strong S/4 HANA FI tables, APIs/BAPIs for currency, tax, payments.
• Proven ability to build and expose OData services and Fiori apps.
• Advanced CDS, AMDP, ALV, native SQL, and Text Search skills.
• Experience with BADIs, IDOCs, ALE, RFC, LSMW, PDF/SmartForms.
• Knowledge of SM30 maintenance and custom ABAP events.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex SAP solutions within the RTR area, specifically focusing on Financial modules.
• Review functional specifications, translate them into high-quality technical designs, and provide accurate work effort estimates.
• Propose alternative technical designs aligned with Clean Core principles and complete comprehensive technical documentation.
• Perform code reviews, ensure performance optimization, and actively support functional and integration testing cycles.

Key Technical Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in core SAP ABAP development for large-scale S/4 HANA implementations.
• Deep understanding of SAP Clean Core principles, the ABAP Cloud development model, the 4-Tier extensibility model, and SAP RAP (RESTful ABAP)
• Deep understanding of SAP Finance (FI) design and process flows, including GL Account journal entries, invoice creation, AP/AR, Revenue Recognition, and the use of substitution exits.
• Strong knowledge of underlying S/4 HANA FI table structures, fields, and common FI-related APIs/BAPIs (for currency calculation, tax determination, payment runs, etc.).
• Experience building and exposing OData services for SAP Fiori applications, and UI generation using Fiori Elements (CDS annotations).
• Advanced S/4 HANA development skills: CDS Views, OData services, AMDP, Native SQL, ALV on HANA and Text Search.
• Proven experience with BADIs, IDOCs, ALE, RFC, LSMW, ALV, and PDF-Based Print Forms / Adobe Forms / SmartForms.
• Proficient in developing custom business configuration tables, View Clusters, and implementing Table Maintenance Generator (TMG) to enable SM30 maintenance with custom ABAP events.
• Strong ABAP debugging skills, workflow experience, and practical knowledge of Code Performance Rules and Guidelines for SAP HANA.

Nice to Have:

• Experience migrating custom code bases from ECC/SOH to S/4 HANA using technical remediation and Clean Core frameworks.
• Exposure to SAP BTP Integration Suite, SAP Business Application Studio, and SAP Build.
• CAP (Cloud Application) programming models.
• Relevant SAP technical certifications.
