PerkinElmer in Mumbai is seeking a Sales Specialist to lead territory development across Central and Southern India, focusing on dairy, food, grain markets, and related agri-commodities. The candidate should bring 5–10 years of sales experience in relevant industries, strong relationship skills, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate/Postgraduate in Science/Dairy/Food/Agriculture management from reputed institutes with relevant experience is desired.
• Experience with Dairy, Food, Feed, Grain, Milling, Oil seed crushing and other Agri-commodity trading industry is preferred.
• Required work experience: 5–10 years of experience.
• Customer oriented and willingness to travel outstation.
• Minimum three years in a sales role within industry preferred.
• One year of prior management experience or demonstrated willingness and ability to learn management basics.
• Strong intrapersonal skills and exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with data analysis and reporting.
• Hardworking, persistent, and dependable and positive and enthusiastic.
• Competency: Market focus and deep market knowledge in specific areas; strong product/application knowledge; develops a strong sales pipeline.

Responsibilities

• Increase sales volumes, achieve, and possibly overachieve the objectives on his/her territory in respect of Perten (A PerkinElmer Company) strategy.
• Sell the company’s products or services directly to end-users.
• Develop new accounts and/or expands existing accounts within an established geographic territory, industry or product segment.
• Identify customer needs and trends and presents Perten products and support services to customers appropriately and effectively.
• Ensure the territory prospect pipeline is populated with a balance of short-, mid- and long-term prospects sufficient for the continuous attainment of territory half year targets.
• Actively sells the increased value of PerkinElmer products and services and always negotiates the best price thus minimizing price erosion.
• Facilitate in solving customer problems by assuring cross functional coordination.
• Provide and maintain account mapping on all accounts and maintains accurate customer and prospect information.
• Listen to customer requirements and presents appropriately to make a sale.
• Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers in person and via telephone calls and emails.
• Act as a contact between a company and its existing and potential markets.
• Represent the organization at trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations.
• Creates detailed proposal documents, often as part of a formal bidding process that is largely dictated by the prospective customer.
• Review his own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets.
• Gain a clear understanding of customers' businesses and requirements.
• Attend team meeting and share best practice with colleagues.
• Close sales opportunities and regularly updating CRM

Job Description Purpose

The geography and market need to be catered by this position is crucial in Southern region. Academia, broader food market, grain markets needs to be covered and explored in a better way. The potential of the region to contribute to the business is USD 500K.This region is growing and a suitable talent is the need of the hour with ability to handle customers from different segments , generate leads, close cases and maintain the value and team work abilities of the team .The states needed to be covered with this resource are Central and southern India along with dealer management capabilities. This resource will also identify new opportunities in the region and work along with application team to develop the market. Projected growth for food is 15% to 20% year on year . The south and central region will play a big role in food processing and needs to be focused better.
